Pakistan v Zimbabwe is a great match. Just shows you don't need 200 totals to have a thrilling T20

For all their faults, the ICC generally do a good job with pitch preparation in major tournaments.

The last T20 World Cup was a farce because of the time of year it was played in the UAE, win the toss, elect to chase and you'd pretty much won the game.

Having needed 3 from 3, Pakistan need 3 off of the final ball. Great finish.

With our nrr over Australia we are probably better off with it being rained off than taking our chances in for instance a 10 over slog

Not raining at all just south of Melbourne. Skies look clear.

I’m not an expert on Aussie weather but is this a bit like us hosting this tournament in April? Or is it just freak bad weather over there?

Copied from the Gruniad...

Eastern Australia is bracing for another wet summer after the Bureau of Meteorology declared a third La Niña in a row last month. Meanwhile, rainfall records were broken in parts of Victoria and Tasmania this week, leaving many tourism operators reeling.

As well as climate change, wet weather is also a result of ongoing La Niña which means trades winds blowing across the Pacific from South America are stronger, this pushes warmer surface water towards Australia and South East Asia exacerbating low pressure conditions and meaning more rainfall.

According to everyone here it’s very unusual. Certainly from looking at their collection systems it seems they didn’t design for this much rain in Melbourne. Rest of the country, apart from Adelaide, is fine though. It’s fucking freezing in Melbourne.

All going to come down to run rate I think, England win the next 2 they should be ok.

Yeah, you would expect Australia to beat Ireland and Afghanistan but they have a lot of ground to make up on NRR.

Mark Adair, however, is most definitely not.
