The Cricket Thread

Wade is an arshole backs out after the delivery then defends it then wants it re-bowled

This is gonna be a fun run chase... hopefully.

No doubt we’ll make it look like a day 5 test pitch with boundaries as big as the MCG

Good spell from Zampa as we seem bamboozled... the last 4 overs have cost us the game...

We lost this in the first 5 overs of the Australian Innings bowled some utter tripe

Scene was set with the Jacks over, again ECB giving the side limited preparation.

The bowlers are the main blame here, they’re usually the first to blame the batsman but their completely sporadic bowling in the first 10 overs was shocking. Either too short or some some cosey half volleys outside off stump

Jordan and Bairstow need to go, neither do what they're supposed to do.

Never really gained any momentum after the openers went.... disappointing but the better team won on the day.

Only saw the England innings so can't comment on the bowling. Bairstow doing Bairstow things. Limited shot wise, archetypal flat track bully

Poor captaincy as well, putting jacks on second over and being smacked around for more than 20 an over.
Line and length of the bowling was all to pot first 5 overs especially.
I agree with @Deutsch Wolf wolf Bairstow and Jordan are way past their best.
I think the 2022 win was this sides last hooray.

I wouldn't criticise Buttler for that, very often it works and you get a quick over through for 5 and he doesn't bowl again. It didn't tonight

I disagree put pressure on early with your best bowlers.
That might be your view, but what Buttler did isn't unusual and isn't poor captaincy. We are a quick short though which will be a theme of the Summer.
