The Cricket Thread

Scrimshaw isn't up to much either, he's quick but sprays it all over the shop. If he plays that'll be the first Derbyshire player since Cork I think in any format
Yeah, think they have the longest gap of any county for England representation. Cork last played in 2002 I think.

Glamorgan haven't had anyone since Simon Jones in 2005.

Brook added to the one day squad as Bairstow has an injury.

Big Fat Sam leaving Notts after more than 20 years (debuted in 2002 and I think he and Ravi Bopara are now the only two players to have played every iteration of the Blast since it started in 2003). Looks like he may go to Derbyshire.

A professional sportsman in that shape (out of choice) is surely fair game :D

Cost him more England caps without a doubt although personally I don't think he was that level of skill in the first place. Better than Michael Yardy I suppose and he's a T20 World Cup winner.

NZ win the toss and bowl.

Jos is 33 today which has crept up out of nowhere.

Malan
Brook
Root
Stokes
Buttler
Livingstone
Woakes
Willey
Rashid
Atkinson
Topley

Some lovely drives by Malan today

291/6, should be plenty on this deck.

Roy will definitely be feeling a bit uneasy with Malan and Livingstone both getting 50s.

Read earlier that Roy is averaging 50 over the last 12 months. Certainly doesn't feel like he's played like that

Basically 2 hundreds and a load of rubbish, nothing else. We haven't played many ODIs

Seems about right. Couldn't be bothered to look to deeply into it, it seemed odd.

Been a real lack of ODIs since the last WC. Over 80 between 2015-2019 World Cups, 40ish since 2019

Topley and Atkinson 10-0-76-0 combined is doing us here

We are going to need the spinners to bowl 30 overs in the World Cup, Woakes to open the bowling, Curran for the death, Wood for some mid innings change of pace. Stokes being back, but not bowling doesn't really improve the balance with Moeen now in slap it where he feels mode

Just seen pictures of Freddie Flintoff on the news, considering that accident happened last December he must be lucky to have survived it.

Yeah it must have been horrendous, I’m so glad to see he’s alright though as it had been worryingly quiet

NZ win the toss again and bowl again.

34 overs a side.

Bairstow, Curran and Moeen in for Malan, Woakes and Rashid.
