Woakesy gets his 5-fer in the end. 317 ao.

Could be a useful extra 20 or so runs added for them.

Nicely bowled though by Woakes.

Hard to judge that score until we’ve batted personally think we should’ve been looking to bowl them out for under 300.

Average first innings score is 382 I think.

Australia will be more disappointed, batting down to 10 and so many players got starts, should have scored 400+.

I think they are 50 or so short considering all of the 'starts' they got, but as you say until we've batted who knows?

I think it’s a decent total but not a stellar one. My main surprise was at the run rate. With the weekend forecast and draw odds in their favour, I expected Convict CC to bat time.

Decent ball by Starc, the "I never leave the ball" thing from Duckett is getting a bit tiresome though.

Duckett shouldn't feel his has to hit every ball..

Very definitely a poor shot. There really isn’t an insane rush even with what the weather may have in store. The run rate can still be Bazball without that sort of waft.

Didn’t realise the last time we Australia at Old Trafford was in 1981.

Needs to practice his leave while walking round a supermarket with a French stick, you know, like all definitely normal people do.

Should have beat them here in 2005, McGrath just about survived at the end and they clung on for the draw

It's a bit skewed because we don't always play here (then you factor in we tended to lose everywhere against everyone in the 90s):

1985 - draw
1989 - loss
1993 - loss
1997 - loss
2001 - no game
2005 - draw
2009 - no game
2013 - draw
2015 - no game
2019 - loss

Convict CC consider the Gabba to be their fortress now, hence why it’s always first test now. I always remember them being extremely formidable at the old WACA but they could be got at at the MCG and especially Sydney.

When the return series comes round I will definitely be going to all five days at the Gabba and I hope to get a ticket for at least one day at the MCG and if I can afford the flights (which are painful) I may try and do a couple of days at Perth.

I can get a Virgin Australia flight from Brisbane to Melbourne for around £100. Perth is about £600. Mind you it is as near to me here as Moscow is to Wolverhampton.

Awful umpiring again, didn't even look close in real time.
