The Cricket Thread

Better bowlers, better batsmen, better keeper and better fielders.

yep they’re just better in every department unfortunately, current bowling attack is to much the same and predictable. Injuries have hampered us.
I think we’ll win a dead rubber along the way and lose the series 4-1.

Not going to hang anyone out for this, we’ve thrown everything we can at them. Keep on the same path and hopefully we can be a bigger threat in a couple of years.

Couple of years and Stokes, Barstow, Broad, Anderson, Wood and maybe Root will have all retired.

With the decimation of cricket in schools and the privately educated dominating cricket we're in for a bit of a lull in quality for at least 10 years.

SKY taking all cricket behind a paywall means kids don't see it and play it as much and selection for counties is nothing short of Formula 1 level disgraceful.

Thankfully the ECB have realised this and increased their outreach, it's going to take time though.

Don't agree their batting is better than ours, certainly their bowling is. They've just shaded the fielding in this game.

I mean in my life playing cricket that’s not a catch. But much like in the NFL realistically it is a catch as the ground doesn’t aid him. Why he put his hands down to cushion the fall I don’t know.

Haven't seen it but if it touches the grass that's not out, never has been. Mcgrath being a cunt, saying its out and if it had been England would have been given out, twat.

Hope the BBC sack McGrath, now saying England got the best of the conditions, now getting the best of the rules.

It does aid him.

If he didn't slide the ball across the ground he falls over.

It's fairly simple that you can't slide the ball across the ground for a catch. I thought that would be blindingly obvious.

Think you need to watch it to give an opinion on something that is completely visual.

It’s not out, yes he’s got control of the ball but his body is out of control causing him to slide the ball on the ground.

McGrath will probably feel like a bit of a tit back in the hotel tonight if the umpires are such home bias then Smith would’ve been judged to have grounded the ball in the first innings.
