The CHRISTMAS Thread

I don't *hate* turkey but I can guarantee you I'm never picking it off a menu.

I'm not settling for a vastly inferior choice just because.

And aye, for once Kenny is right. Get your fucking jam out of my roast dinner, cranberry sauce has no place anywhere near.

It’s not even about it being dry, it just doesn’t taste of anything.

Question for the lovers of eating overgrown ugly birds, why do you only eat it once per year if it’s so good? Why not have it once a week or more often if it’s so tasty?
Have Turkey in many meals in my house. Obviously not a Crown everytime but steaks and mince are in the shopping basket most weeks. Butcher at the Garden Centre does a cracking sliced cold Turkey meat as well

I agree with you, though playing devils advocate apple sauce is essentially jam too.

Don't big yourself up, it's unseemly.

I wish you'd apply this thought process to a matchday thread 😉
And Johnny’s back . I like you, have been very controlled recently despite provocation. . I would, as you know, happily take on any bugger in a boxing ring but I seem to be more tolerant these days on the internet. Still fighting my corner my friend

The butcher at the garden centre we visit is the reason we're in the financial straights that we are, I'm a sucker for "this hundred weight of lamb chops should be a million pounds, I'll do it for thirty" :)

Now as for turkey. It needs additional fat. If you smear the outside with goose fat and cook it at thirty minutes a pound

over thin sliced potatoes and a large diced onion you won’t go wrong

Turkey is from Satan. Absolutely hate it. Rib of beef on the bone or a beef Wellington.

We'll definitely have some beef and probably Turkey to go with it as we have had chicken & beef the last couple of years. My son has also requested gammon too though so we may well be resembling a Toby Carvery...

We always have a choice of meats as the daughters not a massive fan of turkey

Our leftover turkey is usually sandwiches, maybe a curry and best of all along with other leftovers such ad ham and double cream goes into a deluxe quiche which my missus makes...its lush

I had done curries, sandwiches, bubble with left overs previously. Now it all goes into a big pie.

Looking to make a beef wellington for Christmas eve. When would be the earliest I could buy the fillet?

Day 8, an Applicator Mitt. 😟

Wish I'd have had a Cheese Advent instead from Aldi's.

Had a bit of a pre Christmas tipple last night. Fletcher's 40 year old Tawny Port. Quite nice 👍

Turkey leftovers will be curried and a shoulder of pork will provide sarnies for a few days. The crackling won't see the end of Xmas day.
