The bike racing thread

Unbelievable save from Ivan Silva in the Moto GP qualifying.

Sensational last lap to the Moto 2. Fantastic stuff.

Stoner to retire at the end of the season!

Shocked to hear that, for family reasons apparently. On the right machinery he could dominate for many a year, but I have heard people say that his mind has'nt been 100 per cent race focussed for a while. If this is true, how naturally talented must he be ?

Stoner finishes on the rostrum in his last ever race. Pedrosa wins after an almighty crash for Jorge.

Marc Marquez won the Moto2 race after starting last on the grid, he's some talent.

That was brutal, he seemed to hang onto it for an age before being thrown up in the air, looked like his head broke his fall too.

I've seen far worse. You usually see similar crashes in most races.

Red mist crash that i reckon he's regretted since.

Marquez looking good in the tests so far, Pedrosa must be shitting it about getting done over by another team mate...

Don't think there's much interest on here but just like to mention what a fantastic season its been in Motogp, loads of different race winners (9 I think) and the Honda/Yamaha monopoly on manufacturers race wins has been swept away with a half dozen factories being ultra competitive.
Obviously its been helped by Marc Marquez being out injured, will be interesting to see what happens next season when he comes back.

He'll absolutely hose up again - he's on a different planet to anyone else.

wouldn't be surprised, although he has had a lot of big crashes, plus Honda need to sort that bike out, its a beast

Sad day..Valentino Rossi anounces he's retiring at the end of the season. Probably 4 or 5 seasons overdue but the sport will miss his big character

The main reason I got into watching Moto GP, along with the Eurosport commentary team, a genuine pleasure to watch and brought a fair few smiles to my face over the years.

Sad to say ever since it moved to BT, I've lost interest. I probably liked bike racing more than football at one point, but that killed it. Sad to see Rossi go, but the fact that until recently he was still competing towards the top to me speaks volumes to the quality of the riders at the moment too

I struggle to keep up with it these days cos I only have terrestrial TV so only see hilights.
Rossi has just come to the end of the line...probably did 5 seasons ago but he just loves racing bikes.
The current crop of riders are very good, last season and so far this, the racing has been better than at any time, lots of different winners on lots of different makes of bike. Unfortunately there are no Rossi type characters to push the sport to a mass non bike racing audience and as you say BT coverage isn't all that

What a fucking lunatic!
He seems to be one of those riders who arrived with a bang and then went backwards, looked like World champion material initially but has been surpassed by 4 or 5 new youngsters since
