I still like Price, it was only when blues were down to 10 we actually gave him the ball and we started to look ok (as in mediocre not good, but it was an improvement on the first 65 mins).
He's not the messiah but when the ball is aimlessly pumped over your head for most of the game what can a midfielder actually do?!
We have too many squad players and not enough actual ability (coady, Edwards, Saville, ikeme, bod, Stears, Batth) all perfectly reasonable players if used to support a better first team. Sadly our squad is chock full a mediocrity.
Yes, a bit late, but I've found 10 spare mins.
One moment stood out for me was Batth trotting forward with the ball slightly to the right of midfield moving diagonally forward looking for a recipient of his next 50/50 (accurate) ball, when Price came flying over, chasing Danny to just take it off him and play a cracking long ball to Costa out on the far left. A truly commanding bit of play.
Having had the stupidity to watch Wolves at Burton and vs Birmingham, I see absolutely no leadership from him, none at all.
He never seems to rally the lads around him, you never see him having quiet encouraging words to the kids around him, he just stands the aimlessly contributing to the noise around him waving his arms in random directions behind him, not knowing if anyone is paying him any attention.
We can't wait any longer for Edwards to enter another purple patch, he needs to be rested. I never want to see Saville play again.
Another couple of interesting observations was when Kuszack was in the North Bank goal, at 2 Wolves corners, he positioned the 2 defenders in front of him at the forward post precisely, one on the post and the other about 6 feet away, again, square to the post. Actually held their hips and moved them to precisely where he wanted them. Oh for Ikeme to have that sort of focus.
Weimann is a complete waste of space and I'm afraid that Costa has underperformed to a dreadful degree since he signed his big contract. The odd flash of something good isn't really what we should be seeing for really big bucks a week, and a £13 mill price tag.
Worrying times.
I did wonder that night what the fuck must Jeff and the rest of these big guys, be thinking when they sink their money into the club, turn out all the grandiose statements about the big time and the Premiership and they come to watch this shit.
I wonder what the general Chinese populace think of football when they turn on their tv's with their newly spent money for their Wolves subscriptions, just what the fuck must they be thinking.....
Gotta go.
