Summer 2026 Transfer Window Thread

I get the feeling he thinks he’s better than he actually is. We can’t sell him as we’re making a massive loss so will have to loan him.

Not convinced he’d have been “good” in the championship either tbh. He causes a bit of chaos but there’s plenty of cheaper players who can do that. I’d rather have Keiffer Moore.

Aye, the value of our players has increased insanely this season

Ha, I meant relatively speaking.

Sa, Andre, Joao, Wolfe, Tolu, Munetsi, Djija, Bueno, Hwang, Krecji, Johnstone, Toti…..there must be about £80m-£100m in there, surely?

How/if we spend it is obviously a totally different discussion.

I remember when we were linked with Moore and it was greeted with derision. Same when Ollie McBurnie was discussed and he’s got 14 goals and 8 assists for Hull this season.

Joao and Andre doing the heavy lifting there

Lucky if we can give away Munetsi, Djiga and Johnstone.

We'll be stuck with Toto, Djiga, Jackson, Johnstone, Santi and others. They'll be on half decent wages too. Looking forward to the new bomb squad in 27/28

I don't think Moore is bad at that level. Obviously he's about as quick as me but he can hold the ball up and he's genuinely excellent in the air.

Could definitely do you an Iwelumo job in a team that rains in crosses. Of course we have managed to build a squad that has absolutely no wingers so er, yeah.

We need to be creative. Buy Joao Gomes and Rodrigo Gomes, get Toti free.

It's not £100m profit though, taking amortisation into account the only real money we are generating from that lot is Sa, J Gomes Toti, Bueno if you mean H and Hwang. Andre maybe a few million.

Weren't these linked when we were a decent/half decent PL team though
Indeed but they’re probably as good as anyone playing as a CF since Raul. I guess JSL was ok last season but that’s probably because he massively exceeded his xG and surpris, surprise hasn’t looked anywhere near as good this season either here or at Palace.

Yeah, nobody, me included, has wanted Che Adams on the 3 or 4 times he's been linked, he'd be a good signing now though

That works both ways though if you are looking at amortisation, we don’t take the immediate hit on the books for new player either.

But you can see why people were like no thanks. Hopes and expectations a lot higher....now we will happily take a Championship forward. See Armstrong, A for an example

Moore is a lump who is very good in the air. McBurnie similar with a more rounded game. Neither PL level.

Absolutely fantastic news, i couldn’t watch him again next season and he would have been terrible in the Championship. Can’t get fit, can’t run, can’t head it, soft as fuck, touch like a rebound board and the list could go on. Up there with the worst signings because i can’t see who gives us anywhere close to half of what we paid for him.

No absolutely. His aerial ability and hold up play are fantastic. A shit Andy Carroll basically. But when you spend £20m+ on a 6ft6 bloke that’s what you think you’re getting. Not someone who can’t head and the ball bounces off at right angles. Those things don’t go away the level below.

I think we were no thanks as we wrongly thought we’d bring in better. I’d take either of them over Hwang, Tolu and 2025-6 Strand Larsen. God it’s depressing how far and how quickly we’ve fallen.

See, that’s the sort of thing I’d like Rob to mention in his presser (because it’s actually of interest and is news) rather than saying “we want to take as many points off teams as possible” before serving up an aggregate score of 0-7 to West Ham and Leeds in the last two games. The throbber.

And why the fucks he put him on the bench if he’s got no intention of playing him?! Amateur hour.

Clubs a laughing stock from top to bottom*
