Summer 2026 Transfer Window Thread

I think we will be fine with transfers this summer, me being naive maybe. We will be fishing in a completely different pond to what we have become acustomed to. We will have the muscle both financial and in stature. We can sell a project again. We dont have Jeff Shi in charge with all the baggage that came with that.

These are all things that have been lacking for years. I'm cautiously optimistictic....May as well be.

The initial feeling at Liverpool is that Wolves will not demand too much money for Mateus Mané due to them likely being in the Championship next season. Liverpool feel as though 35-40 million pounds could be a good enough offer.

"Likely" yeah, its going to be close but I think we will drop down

Also will never accept that 35 - 40 million is not too much money.

Mané would be best looking at how they've treated Fabio Carvalho and others and go somewhere else. As he's getting minimal playing time If he heads to Anfield, he'd be out on loan by the start of September or in January at the latest.

If anyone offers us close to £35m for Mane he will be off, no questions asked.
I dont think that would a bad price for a potential talent. He's obviously been very good for us but there's no guarentee he'll kick on.
It'd be disappointing to lose him so soon but no-one could blame him moving to a big club given the terrible way our club has been run and managed over the last few years.

"June is tough month"
"World Cup is causing issues with transfers....the players we want are up till 4am watching the games so not awake when we need to speak to them"
"July is a really tough month"
"We were somewhat surprised the window was closing after a painfully difficult August"
Also, as a team with aspirations to get immediate promotion back to the PL, we're going to be in the market for players who will also be on the radar of the newly promoted teams and everyone who finishes mid table or below this year.

We're by no means an attractive destination. Certainly not more than every else around us.

That's what Dibling went for so appears about right. I wonder if we could wangle a 12 month loan into the deal? Mane might not be interested and Liverpool might think it'll damage their asset if he has a poor season, but worth asking the question.

Mané has a lot of skill but needs to improve his decision making a lot. I thought early comparisons with Robbie Keane were very optimistic and nothing he’s done yet has changed my opinion.

If we using Dibling as a comparison, Fabio Silva went for £35m.

On that basis, Liverpool won’t get much change out of £300m for Manè.

That was me. Tbf I did caveat it by saying that I wasn't implying he was as good as Keane but his confidence and how unfazed he seemed on the field with senior players reminded me of Keane
