Summer 2026: Stay or Go

I’d prefer Angel to Doyle who can’t get a start at the moment in a very average Blues side.

I think our chances of keeping Krejci depend on how he does in the World Cup. If he has a good tournament there’s every chance we will get offers we can’t refuse.

Reading through this thread confirms how badly we’ve recruited in recent years. The only players everyone seems to want to keep are André and Joao Gomes who are clearly too good for the Championship. For everyone else there are at least as many reasons to want to get rid rather than stay. The one player I really don’t want starting that we probably couldn’t even give away is Johnstone.
based on the wages I’m not sure angel is 10x the player Doyle is. I’d be ok with having neither next season.

Please god don't let Johnstone be our no.1 next season
The fact Rob turned to Sa after initially making Sam his no1 is the thing I am clinging to and he will be out the door as soon as a blind scout recommends him to a stupid manager....or his agent is mates with a SD or DoF

Me too. I think Angel is a better player but if his reported wages are correct there’s no chance he’ll join unless he takes a massive pay cut which almost certainly won’t happen.

I'm the same, I like him but not at massive price.

Is he going to change games a level down?

I would say no.

He's alright but he's closer to Mark Atkins than Ruben Neves.

I suspect whoever we end up with in midfield that will be the case.
It’s going to be Doyle. Regardless of his record this season, or the eye test with us. If a centre forward who wasn’t starting for a Championship team is our nailed on 9 (I’m not as content about this as others, so likely I’m wrong) then why not a CM too?

Well I hope I’m wrong, and I’m genuinely sure it’s likely I am. Here’s our number 9 now, just as Edwards is our leader, so it is what it is.
