Summer 2022 Transfer Window

You've seen more of him than I have. What are his strengths then, because to me he looks really slow and cumbersome, doesn't offer anything going forward in any sense (scores at about the same rate as Donck) and isn't even close to having the passing range that we'll lose when Ruben goes.

I don't mind so much as long as we don't play 3-4-3. Had to be 4-2-3-1 or some variation so we have at least 4 attacking options.

Neto is but not sure on his fitness levels.

We need another to play from the right and MGW/ Podence/ Silva to weigh in with goals from the 10 position.

That leaves Raul up top. We would definitely need another CF.

Neto can finish, but I don’t foresee him being a 10-15 goal man. If going 4231, we really need the 1 to be a big source of goals, unless we are adding to the 3 behind
 
I wouldn't be opposed to Pukki as a squad player. Wouldn't cost silly money (fee or wages), presumably he'd rather not play in the Championship again and he scores goals. It's imperfect but we need a bit of a quick fix in that respect.

Obviously if Norwich asked say, £15m then you chuck that idea in the bin.

Neto would be off the left not the central striker.

I think he would be a 15 goal man playing in Liverpool's team.

We just need to be better tactically.

In terms of him being slow, I know it's not a high bar but he'd probably be the fastest central midfielder at the club if we signed him so I don't see that as an issue. His acceleration over short lengths is actually really good and helps him snap into tackles and win the ball early.

He's an excellent DM who would provide the protection in front of the centre backs that we don't really get from any of our other midfielders. One of the reasons why we can't play a high line is because we're so easily countered through the middle, signing Palhinha would go a long way towards solving that. Add a bit more pace to our centre back options on top of that and we could free up more of our attacking players to create.

He adds a bit more physicality as well. I know it's kind of sneered at when managers bang on about physicality all the time, I've definitely been frustrated with certain managers in the past when I've felt that their focus on it was unjustified but I definitely think it's an issue for us atm. We've got Podence, Moutinho, Cundle, Aït-Nouri, Jonny, Neves, Coady, Trincão etc all getting significant game time this season and while they've all got their strengths they can also all be bullied by stronger or more athletic opponents.

Yep, i'd be more than up for that, 11 goals in that team is brilliant!

His movement is really good as we found to our cost, obviously he's getting on a bit, and we wouldn't want him starting every game by any means, but he's more of goal threat than Raul or Fabio at the moment.

O I am aware he would be off the left/right. Just feel we still need a central striker who will be 10-15.

To be fair I’d back alot worse players to get 15 in liverpools team. Alas, we’re not Liverpool
 
Not unheard of though. He is probably expecting Arsenal to value him enough to buy out the pre-contract for him. In which case we take the money and tell him to do one.

Marseille got a year transfer ban for the same thing. Monumentally stupid by Arsenal if they get the same punishment.
