Summer 2022 Transfer Window

If Raul and Neto aren't what they were (hopefully the latter can come good again due to age) then you can add Nuno to that list as well. Time to move on

Neto did have a good game against Newcastle let's not forget . He'll come good again , a goal or two at the end of a run would do wonders for him .

Revisionism among certain posters is frankly disrespectful and speaks much more of them than of their target.

Not sure if any of this is aimed at me, but it's not revisionism to point out that Nuno has declined since Covid?

I admit my memory is shot, but what is this mantra (mainly on the Mix but also surfacing here) about Neto being better on the left? In my mind most of his best performances have been when starting on the right and also when our wide players frequently interchange.
He's just a bit out of form, trying a bit too hard. He hasn't been that bad in most games, but made a few poor decisions.

On Saturday he was being asked/ chose to go outside, which then means he has to check to cross the ball, plays on the left and he can deliver straight away. You can see it frustrates him and I'm guessing affects his confidence

The problem isn't that he's playing off the right, the problem is that he's starting on the touchline rather than from the half space. He's receiving the ball too far away from goal, so cutting in to a shooting position means beating two players instead of one, so instead we see the slow down, chop back and cross to nobody/square ball along the 18 yard line.

I'm convinced that we'll get the best out of all of Neto, Guedes/Podence *and* the full backs if those wide forwards tucked in ten yards to get closer to the centre forward

Apologies if I've missed it but is there any indication when the work permit decision will be made?

Also, refreshing to hear folks will stop mentioning the difficulty of changing Nuno's negative tactics and squad over only 15 months when looking for solutions to our current woes.

48 hours seems to be time frame in various places. So, if we presume if it was passed to the panel yesterday morning they should make their recommendation by tomorrow morning

He does it plenty on the left too to be fair, I don't think he's ever been one for working half a yard and delivering ASAP. Seol mkII vibes.

You been typing that since 2018?

Starting wide isn't the problem, infact that's what they should be doing but they don't really drift inside or make the out to in runs you see from any top wide player. Even Podence who's movement off the ball is probably the best only ever comes short.

Lage certainly has us doing the worst of both worlds tactically.

For Neto to receive the ball in the half space like Salah does for Liverpool then we need the full backs over lapping as Trent does.

For Neto to be wide and receive it like Mahrez for City then we need Nunes to push up and occupy that half space with the full back underlapping to cover as Walker/ Cancelo does.

That has to be the same on the other flank too.

Lage doesn't have us doing any of that which is why our front 3 are consistently 2v1.
