Summer 2022 Transfer Window

You've missed the point completely. The point was that he doesn't move the ball quickly, he takes too many touches.
The reason he takes too many touches is because the movement of other players not finding/getting into space

This sounds ambitious considering there’s a week of the window left and they’ve not manager to sign a centre forward in several months.
I was just thinking the same thing myself. Do you think we could get 3 players in in a week? I doubt that...

Whilst the latter is definitely true I don't think that's the sole reason for Neves' usually slow use of the ball. I just don't think he backs himself often enough to do certain things, doesn't like to show for the ball in tight spaces or facing his own goal, doesn't really turn on the ball often and other than when there's great yawning chasms of space in behind he rarely plays it early either.

Like a dog with a bone here but mentality towards risk is a big player I think, he doesn't want to risk something like that where he concedes the ball cheaply in a relatively dangerous area so he takes the extra touch, had the extra look around for surety of his actions.

I was kind hoping we might be hearing lots of noise about a striker by now

Me too.

Jeff: "We worked on a forward all window but when we saw Raul score against Preston, we decided we didn't need anyone else"

That said, Valencia fans seem convinced on Twitter this afternoon that we're signing Maxi Gomez.

That's a hard pass from me, looks like fenerbache are interested.

Why would he come here to be a 4th / 5th choice midfielder?
1) he’s 19
2) he’s probably on less than £500 and can get a wage A increase of 1000%.
3) moving to the best league in the world with exposure to the entire world.
4) huge oppourtunity at forging a career at the highest level.
5) 99.9% chance in 2 years none of the current 3
Will be playing for us.

I would say he's potentially bought in as Neves successor.

Which is how it should work.

It's one thing we've generally been ok at, having succession plans in place for taking over from players that move on or diminish in ability, whether those succession plans are good is another question. Neto for Jota, Silva for Jimenez, Kilman for Boly, for instance. But for some reason when it comes to the midfield up until now we've had a blind spot. Unless you consider Jordao or Cundle their succession plans.

Another link to the danish centre half for 20m and the Austrian striker for 15m. Can’t see us spending that amount considering what we’ve spent so far.

Also 15m is wide of the mark for the striker from what I’ve read..
