Summer 2022 Transfer Window

Wouldn’t be suprised If Fosun did spend a bit this window (with or without neves sale). All on youngish lads unless a new Moutinho deal is in the offering. Then not spend the next two years apart from any sales.

Very small field but with FFP rolling in 3 year cycles, this could be what they will do.

Do I think they will? Unfortunately no. Just trying to look at it from another angle

Because of the equity conversion in the 20/21 accounts we technically made a profit of about £170m from an FFP perspective, so that's the last thing we need to worry about

Isn’t equity conversion excluded from FFP though?

Just seems feasible the way they could do it. Sign a few players this year to fill out the squad, but also with players young to improve etc.
Following year if one of those players has hit to ground running you can profit on them and re invest so net spending is low and so on. Rinse and repeat.

I’m just speculating Ofcourse. Just hoping for a big window in all honesty!

Neto the con that no-one had heard of?
Think yourself lucky. If I’d posted the above, people would be crying that it was a “bitchy, snide point-scoring remark” ;-)

Just seen a couple of posts saying Xavi isn’t interested in signing Adama (what a fantastic bit of business sending him on loan was), and that Man Utd want Neves and we’ve already got a list of replacements drawn up (zero faith in us actually securing anyone to replace him, though!).

We essentially can't replace Neves, no-one as good as him will join us, regardless of how much we sell him for.

He's better than the current Man Utd though. I mean clearly he'd immediately be their best midfielder by a country mile, but they aren't winning shit any time soon and he deserves to be lifting trophies if he is going to leave.

We'll 'move' for players that have no interest in signing for us and then say 'we tried' at the end of the window when we go into next season with Moutinho, Dendoncker and Cundle as our CM's. We are a world class operation in that respect.

Man United are never going to be too far away from getting it right with their spending power and reputation if Ten Hag is the man and they sort their structure out. Equally Liverpool could not be a force anymore in 3 years if Klopp gets bored or they struggle to replace their older players

If Utd go for De Jong than there's no way they go for Neves as well.

Wolves and Portugal midfielder Ruben Neves, 25, is "crazy" about joining Barcelona. (Sport - in Spanish)

From the BBC gossip page.

Due to their poor seasons, Barcelona and Manchester United are being linked to every half decent player out there. I'm not confident that he'll be at Wolves at the start of next season or on our ability to recruit a replacement.

I think he'll go, two years left on his deal, we're going nowhere by the look of it, he can do a lot better and there are plenty of higher profile teams he'd immediately improve.

We got five years out of him which is three more than I thought we would.

If he goes to Barca good luck to him, lets hope its not the same negotiating team as we used for Trincy/Adama though

Traore will be back, probably temporarily before going elsewhere. Barcelona will change tack and try to negotiate a straight swap deal for Neves/Trincao.

Yeah, good luck with that. Would you like to swap your Ferrari for my Austin Allegro. Let me know, txt bk xx

Unless de Jong leaves not sure where he fits tbh. They already have Kessie coming in on a free and both Gabi & Pedri who are 2 of the best young midfielders in Europe.

Yet it will still get repeated and regurgitated ad infinitum.

Tbh I've thought for a while he might go to Real as they're going to need to replace Modric and Kroos soon. Seems like they might want Tchouameni though - between him, Camavinga and Valverde they'd be set for years.

I hope the only way Trincao comes back is in a similar way to Afobe

Mon "Trincao has joined for £25m"
Wednesday "Valencia have signed Trincao for £27m from Wolves, the fee includes a player that Deutsch Wolf hates in return"

Nah, "Valencia have signed Trincao from Wolves in a swap deal for Guedes", obv

I'd take Guedes over Trincy any day.

Well I'd rather have Marmite on toast for tea tonight than dogshit pie, but as there are infinite meals that I could cook that are miles better than either, I'll probably go down that road.
