Summer 2022 Transfer Window

With a £27m acquisition rocking up on Monday that is just a silly stance now. Clearly there is no sell to buy. IT DOES NOT EXIST.
Sell-to-buy being true or not has nothing to do with the competence levels

Edit. Whether sell-to-buy exists or not we should still be trying to get top dollar for our players, or indeed, ensure we get actual transfer fees

I hope he actually is a Lage target, at least he gets the chance to stand or fall with his own style and players.

Is Guedes more of a central option than Neto and Podence?
He is but not exactly a 10 like you would think MGW is...more a 2nd striker type

Maybe the plan is Guedes behind Raul in the Felix role?

I'm not really that concerned because if it's a loan with an option not an obligation then it means sell to buy has to be bullshit.
Does it? Says to me that when it comes to negotiating player departures we continually get our pants pulled down - it's only half a season from Adama's "good for all parties" move. No issue with him leaving, can live with us making the fee below market rate to support the player (£12m), just letting him go without an obligation is stupid though. If that's wailing then so be it.

Bookmarking for when MGW or Neves leave before the end of the window ;)

Someone's going. You're now talking about Guedes, Adama, Neto, Podence, Hwang, MGW and Raul for four positions... That doesn't seem our style!

All the football managers on Facebook are saying we can’t sell Coady, we should put him into midfield to make up for the lack of players we have there

Seen that a lot, I can only presume they have short memories or only started supporting us in the PL

Well if it was sell to buy and Guedes is around £30m and Collins was £20m, You'd think that theyd want to bring in some funds for Coady rather than a loan? If they moan about having no funds without outgoings after doing this they're going to look really stupid aren't they?

You are working under the assumption of competence. Personally I think MGW is as good as gone to pay for Guedes and Collins came from the profit in last year's accounts. Time will tell

You might be right but buying Guedes then selling MGW for a similar fee doesn't really achieve anything or fix any of the issues. We need more attacking options. We could do with keeping MGW, signing Guedes and signing a 9. Might sounds a lot to ask but doing all that still only gives 2 legitimate attacking options on the bench.

Gibbs white will more than likely leave I think. Bruno doesn't fancy him as the #10 and you'd imagine Guedes will play on the right so that means he's going to be pushed onto the bench and it's exactly why he doesn't want to sign a contract.

Just watching some Guedes goals. He's got a very decent long shot on him. Fairly direct, decent dribbler, likes to come deep to find the ball. Can score with his head too.

Definitely a cross between a winger and striker. Will be able to play as a 9 in our system as he'll move around with the other front players and drop off if needed.

Quietly optimistic on him, but it was only a highlights video.

Medical on Monday, hopefully he'll be done and dusted in time to play against Fulham.

The Batshuayi rumours have gone quiet - are we still expecting that to happen?

Who would pay £12 million for right back Coady or midfielder Coady? I think it is the right deal for the player and the club.

If we revert to a 3 at the back, it is probably Collins in the Coady role. It's Coady's last big move, it will set him up for life and he will be warmly.welcomed back after Everton have made it permanent.

I wanted a new defender, new midfielder and new attacker...all first team ready. Looks like we have 2 out if 3 and if Neves stays I will overlook the lack of midfielder (but would like one still)
