Summer 2022 Transfer Window

But he's spent years doing nothing, for anyone?

And he's played in the Premier League so we've all seen him play plenty, whereas very few Wolves fans will have seen Raul at any length before we signed him (plenty lied and said they had)

But he did have a good spell at Dortmund, Besiktas and Palace.

He could be good.

Not one person on here suggested we should sign him. None.

He could be good but I doubt it.

For me it's important in that it allows us to play in the clearly [currently] favoured 4231 formation and stands a chance of offering up better viewing [and maybe results] than last season. I think we were all done to death of the stodge we received before.
He not a link up man or focal point but might just be in the box often enough to 'nick' a few

I’d rather sign him than Hwang mk II.

He was never going to make it at Chelsea, I think if he’d have signed for a lower ‘level’ side eg Wolves, Palace etc then he’d have been much more successful.

We could always get William Jose back.

You posted this while I was still checking how to spell Batshuayi

In a choice between Hwang / Donk and Batshuayi I'm choosing Michy every time.
Can't argue with that, but it does smack of settling and could have been done a month ago if that's who we wanted, then we wouldn't be seeing either of them start tomorrow. It was clear Chelsea would send him out again

I'm not Batshuyai's biggest fan but he's better than I was expecting us to sign in that position. I always felt that motivation was always his biggest weakness but he's apparently out of contract at the end of the season as well so we might get improved performances from him as he tries to win a new deal.

I think we were aiming for higher but those deals just haven't happened because we wanted to pay in magic beans/ Michael Owen NFT's

Agree, i guess what we don't know is how far down our list Batshuayi was

Batshuayi isn't the most exciting signing but we have been linked with loads of worse options. I'd much rather MGW, Podence and Neto do their thing and create chances for him than them play with Dendocker behind them or Hwang in front. On loan he either impressed and we could get him for buttons/nothing or he just leaves at the end of the loan. Added to all that Chelsea are still paying a portion of his wages I don't think there's much risk involved.

I'm not convinced we've bid for anyone until this week. I don’t doubt we had other priority targets, but I think the lack of a Neves sale has taken them by surprise

Batshuayi is far from ideal but an obvious upgrade on Hwang even if we get the shit version. I'd rather many, many others - and as he's a loan and we're not paying his full wages, I wouldn't rule out us getting a (gasp) third striker - but there's been flashes of a player in there, and he may do OK in an attacking team.

I remember being completely underwhelmed when we signed Dean Sturridge.

From from the day he signed to the day he missed that stupid chipped penalty he was fantastic for us.

There is a small but real chance Michy could get on a roll and this could turn out to be a master stroke.

Whatever happens he’s got to be better than absolutely nothing.
