Summer 2022 Transfer Window

I'm hoping Bruno wouldn't be daft enough to play Donk over Pod or MGW if it came to that.
Donk should be playing as one of the 2 in front of the back 4 and nowhere else if he plays once we have a striker. He can definitely do that job and i think he would benefit from it rather than being asked to be an attacking midfielder.

I would agree with you if he can find some sort of form back.

I didn't see him win a single second ball or tackle in midfield this preseason.

A few sources on Twitter saying the deal for Batshuayi is pretty much done. If this was the case how soon is he realistically likely to play? No idea if he has played at all in pre season and what his match fitness would be like. Would be nice to have a proper striker for those 3 attacking midfielders to work off by the Fulham game though.

It's mad when you think how he's been played in across his whole time here really. Professional version of the sunday league guy who has mad stamina and will do whatever the manager tells him to? I don't rate him as low as some but I think it's clear he is a keep it simple CDM, maybe a central CB in a 3 but we've had those discussions about 50 times

Lot of noise on SM saying it’s Coady that’s asked for the move, which has surprised me. But I can understand it. Club captain and England international in a WC year, and he’s been dropped from the best 11.

I think if he goes into that position next to Neves he will hopefully find some form.

Not seen anything of the friendlies apart from goals so couldn’t agree or disagree on that but he does have those games in the league too in that advanced position.

He’s going to play imo tomorrow so that will be the first i see of him this year properly.

He lives near St. Helens as do a lot of his family and close friends. I've no doubts that he really loves the club but for the added convenience of being closer to home alongside being paid more - plus World Cup etc. it kinda makes sense.

Hope we have an cast-iron option in the very slight chance he turns out to do really well.
We don't need that with him. He goes out on loan every year and invariably is shit.

I'm not happy with signing him.

I'm not excited, but I'd take anyone over the existing options we have

Wolves moved 'fast' - is this guy taking the piss?

A living, breathing, warm human body is definitely better than the vapour we have as striker cover currently.

Unless we sell MGW and buy Ramos I think he's as good as we can hope for until the Golden Child returns.

If you could definitively prove that dogshit pie was better than catshit pie, and obviously better than nothing at all, I doubt you'd pretend to be really happy to be eating it.

I'd take either over starving

Let's not forget that nobody was enthused about Raul, or his scoring record ("he only scored goals in a piss poor league" etc etc) when he joined us. Happy to give the guy a chance - Chelsea saw something in him to spunk 40 million up the wall.
