Summer 2022 Transfer Window

Well he’s got 4 weeks. We will find out how good he really is pretty quick and can make the decision.
I think MGW leaves before the end of the window there are too many signs and reasons why it would happen.
I don’t think there are any signs or reason other than the club don’t think he’s that good.

Is it? Much more pressure on him being Forest's record signing than playing for us and they are a similar sized club
Are you typing in white, half the above doesn't appear in your post :ROFLMAO:

I'm not having it. It would be suicide to let him go now. 4 weeks ago maybe, but now no way. Even if they got 100 million for him we wouldn't replace him with quality in a month of Sundays. The wage structure, no Europe, has to be the right player etc. It's not happening.
That journalist is being fed bullshit from Forest deliberately to try and unsettle the player. Classic tactic.

It's not really about what Wolves want to do though because if MGW wants to leave then it's best he does. It hardly ever works out well to keep a player when they don't want to be at the club. Plus if Fosun have decided they aren't willing to fund anything and that we have to be self sufficient then he will never have a higher value than this Summer.

We don't know definitively if MGW wants to stay at Wolves or not but we do know;

- Wolves have put a new deal on the table which he hasn't signed

- He has worked with Steve Cooper successfully a couple of times before.

- Forest have returned with at least 2, possibly 3 bids for the player. You'd assume they wouldn't waste their time with this if - A. Wolves had said he's not for sale at any price. B. They'd got indication from MGW/his agent that he wasn't interested in the move.

- When he was last at Wolves him and his partner had some trouble with Wolves fans on Social Media.

- On social media last season you couldn't go on his accounts without seeing Sheffield United plastered all over the place, there is very little to do with Wolves on there now.

- Reports that under Nuno where he was recalled from loan then not used as much as he expected. Followed by him turning down the option of returning to Wolves from his loan last season in January.

I honestly hope I'm well wide of the mark because I really like what I've seen of him in pre season and I think he's ideal as part of the new system. Just get the feeling on the whole that a combination of different factors could see him go. I started off the Summer not too fussed either way but now I do hope he stays, I can just see him leaving.

I don’t disagree with a word of that, the only thing I think that's changed at least in the short term is he is undoubtedly going to start the season and that's not because of injury issues elsewhere. So the element of being unsure about his place should be gone, although I doubt he's happy in an ideal world coming from the right

I know that reading body language is an inexact science (if a science at all), but he sure didn't look like someone who was desperate to get away during the preseason matches.

I think a major key is for him and Pod to develop an understanding whereby they switch positions throughout the game.

And obviously for Bruno to want this.

Unless he smashes it and signs a new deal in September.

Maybe it’s only 50k, which is probably over triple what he’s on. Maybe, He thinks he can prove his worth and justify being on parity with the big guys at 80k+

Fair

We have no idea about this. Wolves have alledgedly named their price. They haven’t met it. Wolves aren’t feeling pressured into accepting it so are obviously comfortable with the players commitment/stance.

Don’t think there’s anything to draw from that.

Yep. Ridiculous From Nuno.

I want him to stay for the same reasons. We are also not in a position to sell starters unless it’s stupid money. £30m isn’t stupid money, barely do anything with that.

Theoretically, £30 million could be two or three really good players who could really make a big difference to us, and we could wish him goodbye and good luck.

If you've got faith that we'd invest that money wisely, though, you're less cynical than me.
This is it, in a nutshell for me.

£30m, in isolation, who is totally unproven at the top level is madness in every sense of the word. Anyone outside of our club would, understandably, think it was a no brainer to let him go.

But there are absolutely no guarantees with how we would replace him, if at all.

Our board, recruitment process and “Lage-ly” our manager seem like they are displaying gross incompetence on every level imaginable.

I don’t believe the club any more than I do the bullshitters on Twitter and Mol Mix.

We’ve lost our star striker, his back up and are possibly on the verge of selling a possible first team starter in a forward position without a replacement for any of them 2 days before the start of the season?
Surely we can’t be that daft can we?

Some guy on Twitter saying he’s had his medical today 😭😭😭

Less than 24 hours to find out

Agreed with all of those answers. No good me answering the post the same. The Nuno deal was shocking, but you can't base now on then. He's also grown up a lot now, and everything coming from the bloke says he wants to stay and he's happy here.
These Forest rumours are that club trying to stoke up shit and unsettle the player. I wish Wolves would just pick up the phone and tell them to fuck off, he's not for sale at any price.
Anything else will fuck us.

As Kenny says though, everyone is for sale. That's the model rightly or wrongly

He was training today according to Liam K. False rumours again.
Jota walked into the ground expecting to play in the League Cup and left an hour later on his way to Anfield. Counts for nothing

Was speaking to my son on the phone about 1:15 who lives in Tettenhall Wood, not sure where he was exactly at the time but he wasn’t far from home.
As we were talking MGW was driving towards him in some kind of smart arse jeep.

It's the model of the entire game these days. Could probably count on your fingers the number of players who are genuinely unobtainable at any given point.

Yes and no. Leicester have said Maddison isn't available this Summer, we say not at that price, there is a difference at least at face value
