Summer 2022 Transfer Window

Do you not think subconsciously our standards have raised and expectations have raised accordingly, we're messing with the big boys now and I think that's a lot to accept, I do think we try and temper that with being overly critical at times, I mean blaming Podence for the Watkins chance, really ?

Podence can be held accountable for Watkins chance, definitely. A shit ball from him where we have commited men forward leaving us exposed. If it was in the middle of the pitch, rather than the attacking third it wouldn’t be a debate. Don’t see the difference.

Regarding expectations, when you’re in the prem you have higher expectations on your players, simply because they are better players. Nothing wrong with that, only natural and correct.

The issue I have is our frontline has been the most traded area of our team over recent years, and if anything it’s weaker than it was in our first two seasons in the prem. when you invest you want to see some sort of progression, whether it be style of play or whatever. Ours seems arguably worse, or stagnant at best. Signing players like AMS , as exciting as he looks on the eye isn’t an upgrade. Wouldn’t want to see us pay 30m for someone who doesn’t directly make us indefinitely better

Decision making is what sets the top players apart from the average ones IMO. They all have the ability to beat players and score goals, but the decisions are what make that easier or harder to do.

There where only four forward when Pods pass never made it to Trincao, three were on the half way line and three were in our own half (I'd be more concerned with people finding a gap between Coady and Boly and exploiting it easily)

Anyway, moving on from the fascinating dissection of the cause of a chance that Watkins missed, let's get back to absolute bollocks transfer rumours.

This morning's Liverpool Echo had Everton, the new home of everyone's favourite Kevin Thelwell, being interested in a summer transfer bid for Conor Coady. Hmmm - as a red I bet Conor is sorely tempted by that even ignoring the fact that Everton will have a transfer budget of £-1,000,000,000

Agree to disagree. Forward players get far more of a pass (no pun intended) when misplacing passes/missing chances as it doesn’t usually lead to a goal being conceded. He is in part culpable

Also linked to some lad who plays for sporting. Think it was nunes who pep rates highly

He's scored 5 in 27, not sure how that scales to 10 goals without injuries.

He's nothing special, very similar to Traore in style, think he benefits that he tends to play more on the left cutting inside so he doesn't isolate himself like Traore often does. Looked best in a shit team where the plan was little more than give him the ball and let him go, never seen much from him to suggest his game would be elevated by better team mates.

A lot of those are off the bench as he picks up the aforementioned injuries. Per minute he's got a decent return.

He actually passes to his team mates and moves without the ball, I don't see the similarity other than race and being quick.

and playing in the championship…

I know that its just the scum but....

If Ajax head coach Erik ten Hag is appointed Manchester United manager as expected, he will pursue the signing of Portugal midfielder Ruben Neves, 25, from Wolves. :(

If he goes then I hope he leaves England, but if he doesn't then I'll be pissed off if he doesn't go to a team in the CL next season. They won't be.

it would have be nowhere or outside UK for me. nothing like potentially losing one of our best ever players to bring home how much i hate every other UK team. there is no exception. i can respect clubs, their history, how they play the game, their great players and managers, their weary fans, but they are still all cunts. just like we are to them.

I could just about cope with Neves going to City or Liverpool, but that is highly unlikely. If he goes elsewhere in England it would be very odd watching him and hoping he fails.

I wouldn't though, obviously i'd want him to be shit against us, but i don't hope that players i liked fail elsewhere, it's good to see Jota and Doherty doing well for example, at least that's my opinion.
Not for Arsenal or MU though!
