Summer 2021 transfer window

Sure there are.
He's a good, top half, PL midfielder....He's not one of the greats of his generation.

Tonight there was Rice+Soucek and Ndidi+Tielemans on the pitch for the sides which finished 5th and 6th last season.
They seemed to find players of the same ability, if not arguably better, than Neves, without much bother.

So going by your logic 40 million is good business, I think your just trying to stir shit to be honest mate.

But we wouldn't have accepted £40 million for Kante....Kante went, because of a release clause.

We wouldn't sell Ndidi now, for example, for double that fee.
We turned down £50 million from Arsenal for Maddison this summer.
We turned down £60 and £70 million for Maguire.....and £40 million for Chilwell.
We turned down £50 and £60 million for Mahrez.

If you think £40 million for Neves is enough, he's clearly not the level of player I thought he was.
It's a fair point isn't it lads? 40mill is nowhere near enough for Neves IMO, and i don't think the club value him at that either, as i'm sure we'd have had bids of 40mill and he'd have gone by now if they did.

Erm....No.
I simply disagreed, that he wasn't 'One of the greatest of his generation'.

I said I rated him.
You said he was good top half midfielder and now your saying 40 million is nowhere near enough, make your mind up.

He's your best midfielder isn't he?
In that case, for a club with supposed ambitions of getting into Europe, he has to be worth more than £40 million to Wolves!

Brighton wouldn't sell Bissouma for such a low price.

Yeah I know I love him I wouldn't sell him full stop and definitely not for 40 million, but you've changed tac in the last few days from saying he'd be easily replaceable and he's just a good top half midfielder.

I couldn't care less what Brighton would do to be honest.

A fellow Wolves fan said he wasn't replaceable, hence his 'One of the best of his generation' comment.
I simply pointed out, that there were 4 midfielders on the pitch on Monday night, that were either as good as Neves, or better, proving it wouldn't be impossible to find a replacement.

My point, the whole time, hasn't once been related to his ability, which some seem to be missing.

I think every Wolves fan, would unanimously agree, he's Wolves's best player....Or at least best midfield player.
Therefore, he should be worth more than £40 million to Wolves!

I'm just confused, because the 'ambition' that Fosun say they have, and their actions, are completely different.

Certainly true when people are judging by actions they haven't actually committed.

Could anyone point me to where anyone - literally anyone - has (i) suggested they either want to sell Neves for £40m or (ii) posted evidence that the club would entertain selling him for £40m? I'm baffled by the last two pages.

Kang-In Lee has turned us down and signed for Mallorca on a free

"because the 'ambition' that Fosun say they have, and their actions, are completely different."

I was agreeing with that sentence.

We've gone from owners telling us that we will win the league/get us in the CL in the next 5-10 years, to not acting in a way that is ever likely to make that happen.

They've wound back expectation, blaming FFP (which is bollocks), and given us the "sell to buy" spiel.

Why?

Are you overwhelmed by the quality of that signing!?

I know nothing of the man to have any idea where to pitch my level of whelm to be honest.

I do think Fosun investing in a player kind of goes against the woe is Wolves, owners lost interest style narrative that is creeping in though, at least to some degree. So you immediately following a post criticizing the alleged lack of ambition with the announcement of a signing did have quite the comedic effect with the timing.
