It's part of our strategy to sell players for more than we paid for them.
Adama is a great example of what we're looking to achieve
I guess we just al need to become Nuno and trust the process (then kick off on the 1st September...)We also have to consider the balance of the team though in these strategic decisions.
We all know CB and CM are important, but they're non-creative positions (the way we're seemingly setting up anyway).
Sacrificing Adama's potent linkup with Raul to facilitate that puts a lot of pressure on Trincao to hit the ground running as seemingly our only fit first team wide player, and we'd undoubtedly be throwing MGW and RAN in there for quite a few starts at the beginning of the season.
I mean, it might all be fine, but I'm not going to push for it
I'd take a CB and a CM over traore. Even if it means we'll be short in the wide forward area for a little while. We also have to consider the balance of the team though in these strategic decisions.

I disagree with this. We have others to sell to gain a CB and CM. Traore is something you cannot buy.I'd take a CB and a CM over traore. Even if it means we'll be short in the wide forward area for a little while.
I'd back Jimenez to score goals with and without Adama in the side.
I like Adama and would want him to stay.I disagree with this. We have others to sell to gain a CB and CM. Traore is something you cannot buy.
I get it that it's your opinion on it though..

Edit. I'd like to keep Adama and buy a new CB and CM but that's not reality. Reality should be capitalising on an inconsistent performer, for all his threat he doesn't actually contribute that much in terms of G+A
I get that, and if it was still Nuno at the helm i'd tend to agree. But...... with a new manager and new ideas it could be the making of Adama. He's got it in there. It just needs unlocking. The last couple of games have shown he's already a different player.I like Adama and would want him to stay.
But if you give me a choice of Adama or a new CB and CM I'm going for the new CB and cm everytime.
Of all our assets who could fund a new CB and cm, I think Adama is the most disposable.
Fosun aren't doing that thoughI think Adama contributed just fine last time he got to play with Raul for any length of time (and not as a wing back).
He certainly contributes more than our other fit wide options, Trincao being an unknown quantity.
I get your pragmatism, and we won't know what either scenario would really look like atm.
My preference tbh is for Fosun to put their hands in their pockets...
Right now A. We have a CB and CM. We have to utilise the ones we have, particularly as there are 2 weeks to the first match. Bringing a new CB and CM in now isn't going to work. First they would have to isolate, then they would need to fit into the system. What would give us a better season?
A) Adama traore
B) a new CB and a new CM
Depends if our remaining wingers stay fit really. Big gamble. What would give us a better season?
