Summer 2021 transfer window

On cue I've just seen Adama linked to Spurs for 45 million!

Source was the daily mail though..

Fred will be along shortly to have words with you...

Adama has returned looking very good but get another £5m out of Spurs and buy the players we need to fill in the issues and keep Neves. Swap out Rafa Mir and Patrick for a couple of those shit forward players from Valencia and Benfica and on we go

Everyone's desperate to get rid,
Not desperate but we know we are selling before buying so someone has to go and Adama and Neves are our best chance of getting sufficient funds in so we can put a lot of it in Jorge's bank account

We'd be a better side less Adama, but with a new CM and CH than with him. Equally it's not that binary

I'm sure pre-seasons when there has been an international tournament beforehand are usually slower to get moving. As and when the Kane and Grealish transfers go ahead, I expect we'll start to see a flurry of activity throughout the league.

Lots of people have been dying to get rid since way before the 'sell to buy' stuff.

I get the logic, I'm just not as comfortable as some on relying pretty much solely on Trincao until Pod and Neto are fit to make a contribution. Even if we sell Adama, we'd have to buy a replacement, so it's not like all that money would be going to a CH/CM

Do you think Villa are stronger with Grealish, or with a potential £100m worth of new signings?

With the signings - as long as they are the right ones obviously. Grealish misses 1/4 of every season

I'd love him to prove me wrong, but let's be realistic here. If we're relying on MGW for our creative spark in our third PL season something's gone very wrong
Think he's looked quite good this pre season tbh.

Sure, but it's pre season against modest opposition?
No I disagree, his work rate has improved tenfold, I think giving him freedom has unlocked the Adama we all hoped for, unless he's been told that Bruno was not willing to accept 10 minutes effort per 90 minute game

Sure, but it's pre season against modest opposition? If Otasowie had played and looked alright I wouldn't be advocating him replacing a sold Neves
It's not replacing though Trincao and Podence would probably be the first choices, he'd just be an option. If Adama doesn't sign a contract and obviously I have no insight into that then he has to go

It's a complex situation alright, I just would be less confident than many about losing one of our main creative threats and not replacing them when we're without Neto for a decent while and haven't seen Pod this pre-season.
