Summer 2019 Transfer Thread

It's pathetic to be honest from our fans.

Shock horror when we don't sign loads of players when our first XI is the best most of us have ever seen, by a mile. If you want to play for Wolves now then you have to be some player.

I've seen some fans describe themselves as "angry" and "the club have to tell us what's going on" :icon_lol: hopefully those at the club who read the forums (Jeff definitely reads MM) ignore all the crap on there.

It happens every fucking year and it's really tedious to read through. Now LD has gone, it's been turned up a notch and apparently, we're not signing anyone and Fosun want to move away from the city centre and it's all gone to shit and the kit is made from asbestos etc etc.

Just have a bit of patience FFS
So much this. I still have absolutely zero concerns, even with Dalrymple gone.

Plus: "Recurring theme throughout the summer so far, being quoted over-inflated prices in a pretty slow market. Plan is still to bring in two or three quality first-team additions. Striker and centre half the priorities #wwfc"

Which we pretty much know.

Someone like Jonny didn't become available to us until late July - it's slow for pretty much everyone. I'm certainly not worried that we won't sign anyone at all. (As Langers says - patience!!)
The replies are insane. People getting bent out of shape because we're not bidding £30-40 million for a player they probably have never ever even seen play, or may not even have fucking heard of!

I can understand people getting a little bit tetchy as the window closes on the 8th August this year. Less than a month to go and nothing in is a little tight.

I think it all depends on what your expectations are. If you think we need 5-6 players to handle a deep EL run without affecting the PL then I think you are entitled to have moist pants. Even though I think that should be the case it was clear from the end of last season it wasn't going to happen, so I'm confident we'll get the volume we intended.

My expectations in the past 2 summer windows have been exceeded. I appreciate past performance is no exact indicator, but it gives me a level of reassurance.

The only thing I'm worried about is Moutinho's contract. Even if we only add another year on it'd be the best signing we'll make this summer.

In the interests of internet big bollocks I'll donate £5 to Birmingham Children's hospital if we buy 1 or more players

Will you do the same if we don't recuit anyone first team level?

I believe we will sign at least three genuine first teamers. If we do not then I will make a similar donation.

This is one of the times our loan to buy has back fired slightly. We have spent over 40 million but to many that isn't seen as new signings.

It would be nice to get a signing over the line, if only to shut up the voices of despair - I try to use Batfinks wings of steel to deflect it, but it can only hold up so long against the relentless doom mongering.

A signing would be nice just to break the monotony of close season and make a change from conspiracy theories on twiter

John Percy claiming that Cavaleiro has gone to Fulham - loan with option to buy.

I really would rather we completed some business of our own before shipping our spare players out and becoming hostage to the market.

We've done this a couple of times over the past few windows, and it never sits right with me.

Percy is generally spot on.

For the sake of the sanity of a lot of our fans, there really needs to be a signing or 2 that follows if its true

I don't mind Costa or Cav leaving. I'd have preferred to have kept one of them around until we'd bought in a forward which makes me think they have something done or very close to being done in that area.

Thought still had a lot to offer the first team. Must be some big moves on the horizon then....
