Good to see Jonny get another start, looking forward to this

By playing them both out of position. It's a cunning plan
I guess they might naturally play more centrally, and allow the wing-backs to play higher and wide than usual. clutching I know, but I hope both can have a decent impact

Neither of the "wide" players are wide players. I can only imagine Vitinha and MGW will drift in field and play very closely to Fabio, with Jonny/Hoever expected to overlap. But this is exactly the problem with the two lads, Vitinha + MGW - at the moment, we just don't play a system which suits either of them.

More minutes for Moutinho too - would have thought he could have done with a rest. We don't want to burn him out again.

Bit of an odd starting 11 all around.

Early predictions for subs:

RAN for Jonny on about 60 minutes.
Neto or Adama for Moutinho shortly after, with either MGW/Vitinha dropping in to the middle (rather than giving Otasowie a decent run out)
Jose for a short cameo at the end of the match when Fabio is unable to move.

I'm struggling to be as triggered as others by this line-up...
I'm more surprised by how strong they have gone! With the game on Sunday and their injury issues, it seems a risk for likes of Ings, Armstrong and Walker-Peters to be able to play in both for full 90s.

Also - nice to see Luke Cundle on the bench!

It just seems like Nuno protecting the front 3 whilst also giving the chance for Vitinha and MGW to give him something to think about on Sunday.

We're still probably 5 points from safety and that becomes a lot harder if Neto gets injured.

I probably would have played Jose to get him some more time in the team, but that's it.

That's a fucking bullshit team tbh. The FA Cup is all we've got left to play for. It might be enough, but it's disappointing that he seems so dismissive of it at this stage

I hope so, but that's not really Hoever's game either. RAN will play the second half, so may suit him

That is exactly where MGW played for Swansea, and Vitinha has come on as a sub there too (or it may have been a start in the cup previously, I can't remember).

No.

If players needed a rest then it should have been done in the league game where we have nothing to play for . The FA cup is the only competition we have left no matter how unlikely it is we win it we should be giving it the best go possible.

He clearly still thinks there's a chance we may get sucked into it I guess.

He doesn't think that, you'd have to be an idiot who doesn't understand football (or numbers) to think that.

Probably but the thing is we realistically need 2 wins between now and the end end of the season in the league and we are safe
