Southampton (H) FA Cup 5th round build up

We've been OK. With Vitinha/MGW dropping in to connect to Moutinho/Neves it leaves Silva a bit too isolate and the only outball is Hoever who has got into a couple of dangerous positions. So while we haven't created chances we've got into positions where the pass/cross hasn't been executed well enough. Joao should have put Silva through but was a very poor pass.

First 15 we struggled to deal with how direct they were and they opened up us but since then we've managed to get a bit of control at the back.

Think it will be RAN for Jonny now.

Then we have four more subs? Wouldn't surprise me to see the forwards come on, as well as Coady for a midfield and push Donck forwards.
I think we have been less than ok, nothing going forward apart from that hoever cross behind silva and a set piece that was offside. Moss is horrible though in this game..

I appreciate we're resting a couple of attackers but we've really regressed offensively this season, I just don't see what we're realistically trying to achieve
Well we exclusively rely on individual quality and we don’t really have that anywhere. Very wasteful from all of them when the opportunity arises. Just look at that cross from Hoever when in acres - dreadful choice and worse execution

It's called a TRANSITION, you classless donkey. We're just getting used to being a more dominant side that doesn't rely on solid defemding and counter attacks.

We've successfully ditched the solid defensive and counter attacks bit. SO IT'S WORKING

Not sure bringing on Adama or Neto makes a huge amount of difference, it's just a better quality player trying to take everyone on to little effect.

Get three at the back in the bin until we have a midfielder who can make it work

Nuno has set out his stall with this team. Unlikely to make too many changes, at least not until well into the second half, but I’d like to see what, if anything, Willian can do after his poor performance last time round.
Vitinha ineffective so far.
Makeshift team has done better than I thought so far, but surely we need more.

Do you just lurk on these threads without even watching the match, just waiting to drop that tedious line??

Don't put words in my mouth, I never mentioned anything to do with being English and I never mentioned anything about 'Jessies', it's a fair point to say these young kids need to get used to physicality without overreacting to it constantly
Ha ha ha... CONSTANTLY? I usually steer clear of the match day threads because they are hyperbolically negative, no matter how we are playing. I’ll revert to type and fuck off with my opinions because they don’t match yours shall I?
oh and yeah, I never watch the games 🙄

we must attack more as a team and not just individually and players afraid to loosen the handbrake

The forward line so far conclusively proving my concern that they aren’t good enough at this level in those positions

The only 'opinion' you proffered is nothing to do with football, it's just storming in as thread police with OTT innuendo that has nothing to do with the original comment

The Southampton goalkeeper must be frozen, because he's had nothing to do.

Think the kids have done ok so far, got better as the half went on, but lack of pace is killing us.......I'd quite like us to register a shot.
How many high tackles with his studs up does Ward-Prowse have to do before a card?
seen penalty's given for less.

I didn’t realise the game kicked off so early so missed the first half hour - saw a replay of MGW going over in the box, and they didn’t get the ball - why wasn’t it a penalty?

But it doesn't work when we have Semedo, Adama and Neto on the pitch either really
