Overturned or not, RAN following the ball and being nowhere to stop the cross is what started our problems there.

Alright, so by my count that makes the score... Wolves 1 - 28 VAR

It's tactical, it has to be. We've never, ever, ever stepped to those positions quickly under Gary.

About time we got something in our favour.

Indeed. I have no idea what position he has been told to play today. Doesn't look like he does either.

Was a foul but it’s soft. Would’ve been annoyed if it was other way round but il take it

Fouls are given for way less than that all the time! Damn near leg swept Nelson IMV.

Perfect scenario GON can’t complain about bad luck plus the tin hat brigade have nowhere to go this weak either

Seems pretty self defeating if it is. I figured it might just be no-competition RAN having his head turned by playing in attack last season and not doing his job properly.

Cunha made the most of that... I don't like this trait in him as he could have carried on then.

I can just about see how you might get there.

You don't trust your LB to defend 1v1. Your CHs are slow, so you don't want them getting sucked wide. You instruct the LB to defend very conservatively and tempt a low-percentage cross, which your slow but strong/tall CBs should generally be able to handle.

Theoretically, you'd much rather take a cross from those positions than down the endline. But if you give the opposition that much space and time, you pretty well moot any potential benefit. Especially when your RB is notably poor at defending the back post (love you, Nelson, but fuck sake).
