Southampton 2 Wolves 3 verdict thread

It was bad. Bad enough that I switched off with 10 minutes of the 1st half to go. I saw on SSN that we'd pulled one back so watched from there. I apologise for not being a good enough fan and for my lack of belief in the team at 2-0 down. I hope I'm not an embarrassment.

You weren't the only one - turned off after we went 2 down & turned back on when we got the 1st back (just annoyed that I didn't get a ticket for this given the result seeing as how it's the easiest ground to get to from here)

I genuinely can’t fathom anyone turning off/leaving a game, no matter the result or performance. Baffles me

Neto isn't turning into a decent player. He already is better than decent.
He was one of our better players against Utd. Imo.
Whilst I have no qualms with Dendoncker's effort or attitude, he'll never be a premier league defender.
I didn't see any of today's game. Great effort and result though.

I think Neto is turning into a decent player, tires a bit but hes definitely got something about him, BBC were full of praise for him.

Not a bad afternoon, followed the first half of the game and gave up to sort out a flat tyre, got back in and was more than pleasantly surprised to hear the turn around.

Happy to give myself a flat tyre everytime we play if that works!

Yes saying what a talent he is and then giving MOTM to....?

Traore.........closely followed by........?

Jimenez

Err because there are other things in life to do! I didnt have a link so just had Jeff and co on.

Leaving a game is a bit odd, as my time will be allocated for the full 90

A lot of fans have been calling for us to get the forwards closer to each other as we could see Jiminez was so isolated. I'm not sure it rates as tactical genius waiting to be 2-0 down on the back of two goals in five games to try it, but I'm glad Nuno did and hope we use the same approach far more often.

A Jekyll and Hyde performance if ever there was one.

Poor first half (but not abysmal, we could have scored ourselves a couple of times).

2nd half - outstanding - there's a real player in Neto, really pleased for him as that's twice he's scored in the game after he's had goals disallowed via VAR.

No idea why the penalty took so long to be given - it was as stonewall as you'd ever get - the commentary was saying the VAR was just a different interpretation - well thank God it was !

Raul is the best penalty taker we've had in many a year - he's so cool and clinical.

Amazing what a goal can do. The energy it gave us made any thought of fatigue just dissipate in an instance. Like so many, I'd actually like us to score first - I think in the league we haven't won only once once scoring first.

Still the character and team spirit is simply amazing - they just never give up.

Sometimes when you are at home & not at the match it's easy to kill the feed when it's not working - most of us have other things we can do. Not going to to call myself a 'superfan' but often it just gets too much to continue when you are not there (especially if the main link I am watching is the match thread - & this site will not be as bad as others). Couldn't do it if I was in the stadium.

Nuno - this group needs a couple of days off now. Full training on Wednesday & a light session before the Pool game on Thursday.

Thought Adama seemed a bit subdued at the end. Seen a clip on Twitter where Nuno walks up to him, Adama puts his hand out and Nuno doesn't shake it. Hope they haven't fallen out

Superb spirit to come back, the two halves were night and day. The front 3 were all good, Doherty's form remains concerning

God i know how you feel, listening on comms when it kept getting shittier for wolves i was jumping from the Beeb to the Gruniad to the Ex and Blah live coverage , almost trying to will a different scoreline.
Half time i went into the kitchen and started preparing a braised beef casserole for onights supper, with the radio comms on in the other room, ha ha after that every time saints got a free kick or a corner i ran back into the kitchen and peeled spud of did something else. Thursday v Pool, radio comms on in the lounge and me in the kitchen making a kashmiri curry.

have had thoughts over the last few games hat Doc's mojo has gone and i think this really affects the way we play

It has seemed pretty glaring for the last few games. As well as getting narrower, the wingers need to move and find the ball. I feel we've been very static up front for a while now, with all three players moving in straight lines.

I reckon Nuno gave him (and probably others) a proper bollocking at half time.

Edit - wolves turkey twitter feed has some after match footage which is interesting. Adama seems fine.

I cannot believe the turnaround. They deserved pelters for the first half and medals for the second. I thought this was a game too far the wrong team in form at the wrong time

And once again they proved that they really are the comeback kings this year. It’s absolutely no good for your heart and blood pressure!

Just go and cook something else on thursday please - either sounds good.

Saw the view from the camera on other side and it looked like Nuno was geeing Adama up more than being unhappy with him.

Oh and is it wrong that among my first thoughts at full time were

Fuck you lawro you got that wrong and

Bet we aren’t last on motd!

Lawro gets it wrong most weeks. He is as good at predicting as I am
