Southampton 1-2 Wolves. Verdict Thread

Relegation thread is closed, im sorry for starting it, but i was genuinly worried, and have seen it all before. Lets just savour the win now, my god at half time i would have ripped your arm off for a point. Happy days guys.:)

My only disappointment with Fabio is when he was outpaced by JWP! I know he’s not fast but thought he was quicker than that!

if we had a proper high press set up Fabio would be ideal with his boundless energy

So glad we started the second half fully awake and pressed more. See what a difference it makes !! Happy to get the win especially as they had a decent shout for a penalty too.
Been a lot of "that one's on Nuno" this season. Well that 2nd half is on him.

First half Southampton trebled up when Neto or Adama got the ball and other than trying to run through it we had nothing. Leaving Jose isolated and probably touched the ball twice in the other half.

The switch from Nuno putting Adama a lot more central took out that 3 man press and left space on the right for Neto/Semedo. Neves also got closer to Jose and we could now link play. Which meant we could play in to his feet.

Would still like us to get early balls in the area for Jose though. Not fully seeing what he can do I think.
I agree he deserves credit for making the much needed changes! I’d love to know why we always need a half before he forms a plan to dominate the opposition! I’m going to stop watching first halves 😃

The cat’s looking confused. Wondering why I’ve not kicked it yet.
Mine ran out mid first half when I was shouting loudly at Traore. Best go call him in...

Well it seems to this numpty that all we changed at half time was swapping Neto and Traore but it made such a difference, I guess playing on their 'wrong' sides forces them to come inside more like inside forwards. Neves and Moutinhio were also further forward much off the half, whatever, it worked really well. Even before the pen we looked to have much more intent and were on top. What a fabulous goal from Neto.
On the pens, Probably harsh to give either but with current rules it looks crazy from the outside to give one but not the other. What I would say is why do both take their eyes off the ball? Bertrand in particular turns away like a big babby and then leaves his arm outstretched.
So in the last 6 halves of football we've had 2 excellent with positive results, 2 terrible and 2 pretty good against Leicester which looks very good on context.
I said before k.o. that I'd like 5 points from the next 4 games, after today hopefully it will be more.

Fucking hell Mick you've had a shocker there.

Carney is a terrible pundit and Logan mixed up Bertrand and Redmond in her summary but saying men should comment on the men's game is just wrong.

There are some brilliant female football mind out there, just not on the telly, which is a blinding shame.

There are also terrible make pundits, Jenas, Sutton, Owen and assorted cockpockets I never want to hear again.

Didn’t we do the same last season at Saints? Played awful first half then changed formation to get the forwards closer together and won 3-2?

my worry is that we didn’t do that again afterwards so Nuno probably won’t change anything next game from the start.

I quite liked Jose at first but he's got worse with each game. I can understand it to an extent when we're under the cosh but we dominated that second half and he wasn't in it. At least we get some effort from Fabio.
