SACKED!!!

Pathetic really isn't it? 'Jorge we can't get anyone to take our job, who have you got?'

I had a load of it in the Lage days. "8th aren't you, can't be that bad". Yes it is that bad my friend. And it'll come home to roost.
The average pundit or armchair fan never has a clue about managers when it is outside of the Sky Six, feels like they decide upon a narrative within three or four games and run with it for the entire tenure (e.g. the myth Lage played good football). BBC comments aren't exactly Mensa but almost universal praise for O'Neil.

I remember non-Wolves fans saying we were mad to sack McCarthy when he was clearly finished and off the back of one of our poorest results in years. We could go down on GD now and you'd find pundits swearing blind O'Neil would have kept us up despite the torrid inheritance left over. I think any O'Neil replacement will have a tough ride from the media, squad is already very fractious and O'Neil has managed to escape the blame somehow.

Gary O’Neil did well last season, and deserves credit for that.
Let down by Fosun and its supposed “strategy”.
Of course O’Neil made mistakes, as he is relatively inexperienced with the EPL.
The last four results and the manner of them made his position untenable.
However, I wish him and his staff well for the future.

And the Spurs' win that had nothing to do with tactics, just two late moments of magic.

Saunders took over a midtable team with the goal of making us challenge for the playoffs and got us relegated! I can't stand O'Neil but that idiot is leagues beyond anyone when it comes to the worst manager at Wolves.

Erm, same as GON then. There's really not much in it either way but Saunders took over an already struggling team and got us relegated, GON took over a mistake team and slowly made us worse and we've been absolute embarrassed in many of them. And he'd have had us struggling in the Championship too.

He's no better, and nor is he a nicer bloke than Saunders

Hmm I think we were the better side second half in that game, it’s definitely more to do with Spurs being decimated by injuries and suspensions from the game v Chelsea on the previous Monday.

From that Fenerbace fan, he really doesn't sound much better.

Wrong starting XIs, waits too long to make subs, his teams don't score many, falls out with every man and his dog, constantly writing in his notepad instead of the game, hates criticism and sulks at the media.

It's a huge gamble, but I guess that's where we are right now. He might be alright, he might be a disaster.
Knowing very little about him other than reading his CV etc it might be a gamble, but one worth taking, even if he gets 6 months out of the players, keeps us up, upsets everyone then leaves. Job done.

It’s a far smaller gamble than say sticking with GoN which is the bench mark really

We’ve had the best Portugal had to offer and the worst Portugal had to offer, so hopefully something at least in between.
