SACKED!!!

Does the fact that it seems like the new chap has his own backroom team mean he won't be totally shit?

Lambert did OK. Stabilised a chaotic squad and stayed up pretty comfortably.
I disagree

Followed that up with the world's worst 1-0 win against an appalling Rotherham team (they missed an open goal with the last kick of the game) and then we won 2-1 at Brentford with two goals in the last five minutes. If he'd lost there then he'd have been sacked.

Then some of the football right at the back end of the season with nothing to play for and him auditioning for his own job was abject.

At least Cooper won’t have to worry about Jeff signing a thousand players for him

One outside option is Robbie Keane, who The i Paper understands has been involved in coaching the academy of late, with his son involved in the youth set-up.

Keane is available having left his most recent role with Maccabi Tel Aviv in June after guiding them to the Israeli Premier League title.

Pedro Martins also continues to be monitored by a number of Premier League clubs, largely due to a successful spell with Olympiacos in Greece, though he has fallen off the radar slightly since moving to Al-Gharafa in Qatar.

Sergio Conceicao, another Portuguese, is open to a new role after stepping down from a hugely successful stint at Porto – in which he won 11 trophies – in June.

The equivalent of a journeyman player, but in the manager category.

Probably knows a few of our players from Portugal/Brazil, though.

Had to go. Should’ve gone earlier. Think he knew he was going hence the difference in his post match interview. Irrelevant of whether he’s a good coach or not, if players aren’t ’standing Where you want them’ at set pieces, then equally that means they’re not listening to you, which is indicative of a bad coach.

Don’t dislike the bloke as some. Do feel he was dealt a poor hand, however with that poor hand he has performed abysmally.

Interesting to see what January brings. No idea who the replacement will be, but to not change because you don’t think there’s anyone better isn’t a reason not to change, we were definitely not getting out of this with him in charge.

I don’t think we’re down yet though. Most people would have us with the squad as a lower mid table team, so if a new manager comes in and we performs to that, we may survive.

If we go down, I think we’re totally screwed.
