Rubbish Pubs

Top 3 wank pubs for me
1 - Bispham Hotel, Bispham. The landlady hates anyone who has a mobile phone, atmosphere is on par to a covid era footy ground & beers shit.

2- Hedgford Lodge, Hednesford. Worst spoons about. Staff hide & serve people walking up over people waiting & beers inconsistent.

3- Glasshouse, Norton Canes, went in for friday night Darts in the chase league. Average age was 74 was told darts has to stop for bingo... we won 8-1 & got served shit beer throughout. Glad its now demo’d & houses stand there.

I'll raise you Scottish pubs in Blackpool.

NEVER go to Blackpool when it's an Old Firm weekend. To be fair the final six words of that sentence are probably redundant.
I've done it. Fuck me.

In my experience the worst pubs always have normal telly on. Not sports or mtv or whatever. Just Corrie and shit.

The White Hart in Bilston. I can only imagine the architect was going through some existential crisis at the time.

This was our local underage pub when I was a kid - known as the Rickie. Finally closed a few years ago after the second murder outside IIRC.

I was born in Rickerscote Avenue less than 100 yards from this place - went in there twice in my life if you discount the off sales that used to be on the right hand side and sold sweets. Started life as The Plough before becoming the Alpine Lodge prior to the imaginative name of the Rickerscote Arms. It's now a small housing development.

So many pubs in the area now gone including The Garth and The Nesbitt Arms.

The latter 2 were my locals growing up round there, my dad practically lived in the Garth (explains a lot really) - Nessie was my pub, loved that place. Flipping houses now.

I've lost my Vention, Manchester and Hamburg locals. Sad stuff.

No pics, but this pin was my local in Zambia - best view from a pub ever. I lived at the top. 9AF0BCB4-583B-4513-A476-0663287EE10B.jpeg

I think you'll find it's the Old Mitre, my friend :)

That was classed as Vention? If you’re walking it it’s fucking miles away. Went past it yesterday on the way back from my jab and felt a bit sad, the food in that place was awesome. Could never understand why it closed.

This was a shithole, proper old and run down and never anybody in there. Hadn’t been cleaned for years. Used to go in there when I went to college in Pleck and then later when we used to do our weekly Bridge Street Comics visit.

And how could I forget this place? There’s a fucking bath outside just to the right out off screen shot, it’s been there years. Every time you go past there’s something new in it. Never been in, never will.

It's 20 minutes walk tops from my old house. It's got to be Vention, not far enough up to be Essington.

It got taken over in around 2001 by some seriously clueless women who'd clearly never run a pub before and they wrecked it. Stripped out all the stuff from the bar and it looked like shit, service went miles downhill, they'd be pestering you for your empties any time after 10.30pm and as good as shooing you out the door, do one. Never recovered. Because its's pretty much in the middle of nowhere (they also never had Sky so it really was just pints and grub), when you lose trade in a place like that you're done. Such a shame. Late 90s the food was indeed terrific, best steak pies I've ever had.

I have been in The Orange Tree and The Swan, dismal.
