Rotherham (H) Build Up

I fancy Edwards to score in this one, we've got genuine threat from both flanks and hopefully Saiss and Price can do Edwards passing for him.

Not sure about Weimann upfront but without being flippant he can't do any worse

We cannot play hoof ball though

He's more or less the only one we have. If they are trying for a goalless draw or (shudder) get the first goal then you really, really should have a left footer out there or else we're going to be far too predictable.

Could always have Costa on the left if he wants a left footer, doesn't have to be the full back.

It's a shame we've been without Mason for a while as he has actually looked OK when I've seen him playing behind the striker

Shocker of a starting line up, however if we don't beat them with this string, things look pretty grim!

Costa pulled down on his first touch - a tactic they will no doubt employ

Marshall FK almost got to by Hause 6yrds out - Rotherham defender clears for a corner

When Marshall puts over 3 crosses which are apparently excellent, is it indeed (as suggested by Burrows) unfortunate that it doesn't fall to one of our players?
I thought that's what we're supposed to do in training?
Mind you after Burton, Wigan and Birmingham, I don't think they meet at training, as in they don't all turn up on the same days...

True, forgot he's left footed as he's played a lot on the right. If the opposition sits really deep though you might want to get some crosses in from the fullbacks on the overlap. In a more open game (which it very well might turn into) it shouldn't matter as much, but if the defence knows the player on the overlap has to turn to cross properly a deep defence will be very comfortable defending with their backs to the goal, at least that's my my reasoning.

Shocking gaffe by Saiss, gives it straight to Ward who danced into the box and lashed in a shot which brought a good save out of Ikeme.
Seems to be a weakness in his play that does...
That would have been fucking disastrous!

Ward put through again, forced out wide & Hause manages to head it away - Coady appeared to switch off there

Coady on the wrong side of Ward who once again drifted to the goal line before whipping the ball in but it fortunately came to nothing...
We're so nervous, Free kick comes to Ward and his shot lacks venom and Ikeme takes it comfortably...

Sounds like Rotherham have had the best of it so far. Can't see where a through ball for Weimann will come from. Other than a decent save from Ikeme we would be 1 down eeek

Both fullbacks are on their natural sides already so I don't understand your concern.

Rotherham as expected packing their defense so no point in hoofing it over the top into a crowded area as Saiss just tried - need to bring the ball foward on the ground - Lambert jumping frantically up & down on the sideline

Tactical sorting hat genius that he is.

I think he means more that fullback is a very demanding and specialist position, and we have makeshifts doing it so aren't likely to get as solid a performance from them as you would a specialist.

Good god we could be 2 down

We have gone to 5 at the back. Saville and Coady as wing backs....yes it's true
