Rob Edwards - the prodigal son returns

If the club didn't make the team stronger (or at least more balanced) during the window in a net sense, then Edwards has to take a cut of that responsibility...it didn't just happen to him.
They had clearly written the season off. That very much did happen?
We could have bought even one asset with a single one of the characteristics you mention...but we didn't
And the difference it would have made would have been to potentially enable him to play the way he wants to play to be as competitive as possible in the league we're in, relegation or not. And as for spending money on PL players, we paid a decent wedge for A Gomes from the sounds of it.
as above. They’ve written the season off (correctly). They’ve signed Armstrong for the championship and he will be fine. I’ve actually been pleasantly surprised by him and he has more to his game than I thought he did. I assume we signed Gomes because he was available and we only had two CMs in the entire squad who both love a booking? We rightly didn’t waste any more money and looked to bring money in.
We have been competitive as well?
We may have written the season off from October onwards as fans, but the club and manager can't, and no one's paying millions for you or me to form a successful plan, we're paying him.
As I said earlier, I have no idea why we did pay for him. But we have. Jeff Shi I guess.
If you're saying he had his hands tied behind his back this season (mainly due to the players at his disposal), do you see anything in him that makes you comfortable with him and his decision making/team building at the helm of our play-off push next season?
Yes, he’s improved us. We’ve played decent in spells. We’ve been competitive. He’s not pissing me off, the players seem to like him. The attacking third of the pitch is embarrassingly bad though on a talent/creativity level. So I’m relatively pleased that we’ve largely been solid, we work the ball up into the attacking third relatively well but then nothing happens. But we’ve been like that for years and relied on moments from Cunha etc. Take away the talent and….

He in all likelihood won’t get us back up next year, but I don’t think Nuno would. I don’t see Edwards as some no hoper stealing a living. If we do by some miracle get the recruitment right then I feel he would have us there or thereabouts. We will soon find out

In many games I think he made us worse. I know that sounds unlikely, but I saw it with my own eyes. And a manager of Nuno’s calibre would get us up with the right backing next year. The way we’re settling for mediocrity simply baffles me.

I'd bin Edwards off as soon as the season is finished.

He's crap...I don't need to waste games in the Championship for that to be confirmed.

Just get rid.

Of course we could definitely appoint worse but I don't see that as a reason not to show Edwards the door.

But they won't. You don't pay compo to get your guy to join a sinking ship and then bin him when the inevitable happens. Not unless he completely sh*ts the bed, which he hasn't. Is he the guy? Probably not. But they're probably still paying off all the other failures and with Fosun's lack of ambition now they'll stick with Rob until it becomes untenable (10+ games into next season). But anyone who keeps picking Tchatchoua tells me they're blind to what happens on the pitch and needs to get gone.

VP rightly gets the stick he deserves for his part in our shambles. Do you think Edwards would have kept us up if he’d have come to replace GON last year though? I, rather obviously, do not.
Not so sure, I doubt he'd have hit the ground running in the same way or got nearly as many points, but we finished 17 points clear of the relegation places. Assuming in this scenario we still sign Agbadou then I think most managers would have kept us up including Edwards. He'd have needed 17 points from 22 games which is relegation form in a normal season.

I think you guys need quit two coach: the main coach of first team, and the coach of sub-21

Are important having a coach on sub-21 in formatión with option of upgrade to first team.

You guys need one coach of 35-40 years old max on sub-21.
