Relegation run in 22/23 ** Now a Wolves free zone**

They’ve still got a game in hand on us after tonight, but I didn’t realise three of their remaining 4 home fixtures this season are against Arsenal, Liverpool & Man Utd. They’re going to be right in the mix until the end, I think.

5-1 now, another Fabianski shocker - good goal from Newcastle’s point of view & Joelinton.

Told you they weren't better than us :)

Lots of results have gone for us this midweek then! I wonder if Moyes might get sacked after that result.

For people saying we're the worst team in the league/one of the worst or whatever it was, plenty of positives here from our perspective. All the teams around us are just as capable of putting in a shocker.

Really good organised stuff from Newcastle but still think they've been fortunate with the state of the league being perfectly set up for there improvement.

Shows what a mess we have made to have basically swapped places with them in less than three seasons.

They're decent and all that but I don't think they're as good as we were in 2019/20, and we finished 7th (with Europe alongside too).

Just the way the league falls sometimes.

Newcastle dropping FBs into midfield to create angles to pass out from the back like City, Arsenal and Brighton so (probably others). Overrated tactic. Should just drop all your midfield into defence instead.
We actually used to do this quite well from time to time under Nuno with Jonny. I miss us being good

Bit like Leicester won the league when Coty and Chelsea had lulls. This time Liverpool and Chelsea have exceeded the worst expectations of most fans opening the way to the Champions League for Newcastle.

I don't watch as much football as most of you so was wondering what the view on West ham is. I look at their squad and it doesn't look horrendous, certainly capable of better than what we saw tonight. What's going on there?

They've been dreadful for absolutely ages. Like in 2022 they were worse than we were under Lage.

Set piece merchants with defenders who keep making mistakes.

Stopped scoring, conceding more

By the way that's not some classic exaggerating for effect by me.

West Ham in 2022: P36 W11 D6 L19 (1.08 PPG)

Wolves under Lage in 2022: P28 W9 D5 L14 (1.14 PPG)

And they've then been way worse (13 points vs 18 points) than we've been since the World Cup.

It's why I can't buy the "we're easily one of the worst teams/the worst team in the league" statements because we just blatantly aren't. We aren't very good I'll grant you.

Good for goal difference that result. Another one of those against City and West Ham's GD will almost be as bad as ours.

Bit of a Forest situation developing for West Ham too - their away form is horrific (6 points and 7 goals all season) and they're running out of home games...only four left and three are against Arsenal, Liverpool and Man Utd.

Got the distraction of a minimum of two more European games this month as well.

They've come in from 8/1 last night to 5/1 now.

Moyes' reaction face. What a look

Edit: Siri, what is an "existential crisis?"

Felt a bit sorry for him last night. Generally I think he seems like a reasonable bloke compared to a lot of managers. Must be tough as a manager to formulate a plan throughout the week, send the players out to execute that plan, only to see some absolutely calamitous defending/keeping like last night.

That said, if West Ham have to go in order for us to stay up, off you pop.

He can fuck off for never dropping the cat kicker, IMO.
