REFERENDUM RESULTS AND DISCUSSION THREAD

This whole case is a farce. It relates to an incident in March, but Steve was only charged AFTER he played "Things Can Only Get Better" during Sunak's sodden election announcement, which was heard all over the world.

The case was adjourned on Monday until April because the prosecution was supposed to provide Steve with their evidence by September 2nd, but he did not receive it until November 9th. The magistrate ruled that he had not had long enough to prepare his defence.

Just to add to the farce, the case was not adjourned before the court had Steve's version of the Muppet Show Theme played to them in evidence...

Utter madness. The justice system is falling apart and the worst he’ll get if found guilty will be a fine that is a fraction of the costs involved. No real victim, where’s the public interest?

Just so I can get my brain working...is that saying people expected fines from the EU to be null and void after we left the EU and on their visits they should be able to speed etc without comeback?

That's my assumption.

Yep, although not sure it's people, it's just that bastion of level headed, reasonable journalism.

It's The Brexpress pushing it's agenda. Equating leaving the EU to the fines. A feeding frenzy for those who want to believe it and further justify their leave vote.

The Brexpress is amazed to find that countries in the EU can control their borders…

Does that rag understand that Brits can be 'Europeans¡ and 'non-EU migrants'? My understanding at the moment as a permanent resident in Germany is that technically the Germans and Italians could make an agreement to send illegal Brit migrants/residents to holding posts such as Rwanda or Albania.... I doubt they would inflame things to that extent though! LOL.
PS. What kind of makey-up British name is Astha Saxena? Haha. Good luck to her though as she is reportedly from India.
EDIT. On re-reading this I realise my sarcastic comment about the journo´s name could easily be taken the wrong way. I should have written it more clearly as I am taking the piss out of the Express because their attitudes don´t fit with employing someone with a nam e like that. My apologies.
