Ian Robertson representing BMW UK has told the Beeb "If we don’t get clarity in the next couple of months we have to start making those contingency plans – which means investing money in systems that we might not need, in warehouses that might not be usable in the future, in effectively making the UK automotive industry less competitive than it is in a very competitive world right now". That's another 8k jobs at risk.
Airbus was first item on BBC radio news all yesterday.
David Davis has spent just 4 hours in talks with Michel Barnier this year
Top working there
Does he really need to spend time with him?
You would hope trying to come to a deal would include a little bit more than 4 hours of talks in nearly 7 months, especially as the end of the 2 years is not that far away now. It appears the meetings are basically a "Hello how are you....we want this...what do you mean no...well lets smile for the cameras on the way out....do this all again in 3 weeks?"
You don’t really think it’s them pair that are working on the deals and doing the negotiating?
No....but I would still expect the main man to be putting a bit more into this shizzle. All comes across as a guy taking the piss to earn the £££, especially when you see him front of the MP's committee bullshitting and trying to joke his way through some pretty important stuff.
