REFERENDUM RESULTS AND DISCUSSION THREAD

First of all, nobody on here is asking anyone to go home. I haven't stated that anybody has. I was making a point about the contribution immigrants are making to the UK economy and how sorely missed that they would be if they went home.

Did you read about the 20 Bangladeshis getting shot at in Greece, because the Greek farmers wouldn't pay them their wages? No

Do you think the Greek workers are too lazy too? I haven't called anybody lazy. The last Greek worker that I spoke to was serving me cool drinks in a hotel bar in the evening having already done a days work as a school teacher.

Who collected the Greek fruit, before the Bangladeshis arrived? Why do you think Greek farmers prefer Bangladeshi workers? Pav collects Olives but I don't think that he could do that for all farmers in Greece. You'll have to enlighten me and then explain what relevance all this has to your previous question.

Enlighten yourself.

Why do you think the Greek man who SERVES you your drinks has had to leave his home country, when Greece is employing Bangladeshis to pick their strawberries?

Don't you think it might have to do with cheap labour and exploitation? Can you see a pattern forming in the EU? People are employing cheaper labour from abroad instead of paying dignified wages to their own citizens.

Why do you think the Greek man who SERVES you your drinks has had to leave his home countryHe was serving me in his home country and my family visiting it was hopefully of benefit to Greece. I enjoyed travelling there with the freedom of movement that could be taken away from us in the next few years., when Greece is employing Bangladeshis to pick their strawberries? I can't control, nor can the EU control who a Greek farmer decides to employ on his land.

I'd say that its got feck all to do with the EU!

Ive never claimed there are any.

The answer I was waiting for. So the EU is good for the haves and not good for the low paid. So voting to stay in the EU is about personal interests and has nothing to do with looking after fellow citizens that are not as fortunate as you.
Makes me even happier, that we voted out.

Meanwhile (adopts Geordie voice)....

Day three in Brexit Britain, and @DavidJo52951945 wants war with Russia because of Gibraltar.

Improving living standards, higher levels of education among young people (supported in their endeavours by the family), the increasing number of women who work, and the shift from manufacturing to service-based economies have led to a decrease in the native population's need for (seasonal) work away from home and to a general unwillingness to hold low-status and low-income jobs.

No, its largely neutral for the low paid. Basically immigration exerts downward pressures on wages at the lower end, but on the other side of the book it improves government finances, meaning less pressure to cut things like tax credits that disproportionately benefit the low paid.

If you think that leaving the EU will lead to the low paid suddenly having amazing lives then you're shit out of luck.

Strange that we have 4 million at work living in poverty then.

No, wrong. Its the EUs fault.

BECAUSE THIS IS GREAT BRITAIN DICKHEAD!

Here is one for you, how many immigrants have come to the UK, who were from other EU'S colonies, but refuse to live in the countries that colonised them.
Brazilians for example who have gained Portuguese nationality, but their are many other countries.
