REFERENDUM RESULTS AND DISCUSSION THREAD

From a link below.

In a speech earlier on Monday setting out her leadership campaign platform, Mrs May - who rejected the argument that the next leader and prime minister had to have been someone on the winning side of the EU referendum - said: "Brexit means Brexit and we're going to make a success of it."

Fab. We can read about it in the newspapers. Feel free to not update us on the struggles of each European country. The war's over now, solider.

Part of the problem was, that many newspapers in the UK, treat their readers like idiots. They don't inform their readers about the complete utter mess the EU is in. That is why many of their readers have a misguided idea about the EU and prefer the idea of an EU superstate with unelected commissioners, over their own countries elected members of parliament. I sincerely hope our kids in the future, will be bought up and educated, to love and be proud of their country ( in an unnationalistic way). Instead of bought up to trust unelected EU commisioners more than our own elected members of parliament.

Why does it even matter now? Most of us - rightly or wrongly - didn't care before, so why should we now?

So what? 4m voted ukip last election for similar reasons. Protest voting has always happened as has single issue voting both locally and nationally. Neil Hamilton was beaten by Martin Bell for a single issue reason.
Brexit means Brexit and away we go.
It was a binary in or out vote based on what people consider is best for the UK's future. It wasn't a platform for political protest.

I'm loving it!!! The sooner the EUSSR disintegrates the better.

At the risk of you not answering anyway, but why are you eager to see the EU disintegrate? I can agree with a withdrawal from a full federal union (if that is indeed on the cards) and a return to national currencies, but a total disintegration and resulting new alliances, trade wars, possible shooting wars? Europe wasn't exactly peace and harmony pre-1945 was it, you'd in fact be hard-pushed to find a prolonged period of peace. Whats going to happen when these 28 separate, and sometimes powerful states are each in direct competition not only with the US and far east but with each other?

People who voted to stay don't love their country, are not proud of it and are uneducated I suppose?

You really are a charming fellow.

OK, I'm convinced. I'm definitely voting leave in the referendum now! You're so persuasive. Have you considered a career in second-hand car sales?

WTF are you talking about?

The circulation of Leave supporting newspapers is at least 3x more than their Remain counterparts.

Which are these many newspapers? The most popular papers were all vote leave weren't they?

EDIT: Vis beat me to it!

I know that you know that but you're naive if you think no one voted like that

I'm not naive. However it doesn't legitamise those that used this vote as a protest. Pesky referenda eh?

Guardian, Independent, Times, Telegraph and Mirror. BBC were so biased, that it was embarrassing.

I don't think most people buy the Sun for it's politics.

the interesting issue for the future is where the so-called anti-establishment vote goes from here. Britain still has an establishment government, an establishment PM and since the referendum result has been consulting with the establishment finance sector on how to keep the economy churning. as predicted, that'll be more concessions to big business to offset the negative impacts of EU exit. a smaller pie than we started with, and a distribution policy potentially worse than before.

Firstly, The Guardian and Indpendent arent even in the top 10, circulation wise.
Secondly the Times is only 9th
Thirdly The Telegraph endorsed leaving.
Fourthly, the most embarrassing thing is you shifting the fucking goalposts every time you're shown to be spouting utter bollocks.

Must be because I mentioned the Guardian. Hahahaha

No, it must be because, not for the first time, you're throwing out arguments and then running away when they're shown to be horseshit.

I've never run away in my life! My point is you wouldn't read the Sun for an in depth political viewpoint. People read the Guardian and really think it's giving them an unbiased political article andI find I that funny. Just goes to show however intelligent someone tries to come across, they completely get taken in by propaganda just like anyone else.
To have a newspaper telling you how glorious this uncorrupted, peaceloving, the saviour of humanitythe EU is and so called intelligent people believe their lies and at the same time , the Guardian missing out how absolutely corrupt, undemocratic, sucking up to multinationals at the expense of the working man the EU is and people who think they are clever, makes me burst a gut laughing!

I read the Guardian every single day and I disagree with pretty much all that Polly Toynbee and Matthew D'Ancona write.
