Reading (H) Build Up

Turnstiles open at 16.30, so that wouldn't any good.

Thanks for that pedant.

Strange how all the Prem games are still on.

Leicester, Derby, Forest all on at this moment. And we have longer to clear and grit the pathways too.

It's down as off due to frozen pitch, i thought we had undersoil heating
It’s not just about the ground. Most surrounding areas where the majority of supporters would be coming from are still under plenty of snow. I for one wouldn’t fancy driving from where I am.

Not strange at all.

The weather in this area last night was bad. The roads are a nightmare. The club could possibly clear the ground but the safety reasons will include the fact that it isnt safe for fans to travel in.

The temps staying below 0 means a lot of roads won't get cleared.

How have all those other clubs kept their games on then if it's purely down to travelling conditions?

Only had about 5-10mm of snow overnight up here, hadn't had anything since Thursday morning before that either. So if it's been similar in Derby, 10 or so miles down the road, it should be piece of piss for them to sort.

That picture from Molineux this morning looks a whole lot worse.

London has better transport available and they haven’t had it as bad. The North West has barely had anything. The fact all the East Midlands/ Eastern games are on in all leagues tells me they haven’t had much either.

Edit - as Mark has just clarified in regards to the East Midlands

Phone up and ask them.

Villa have done the same as us. It simply isn't safe to drive away from the main roads around here and won't be all day

The main roads will be fine. It's up to 0c and no more snow forecast.

I'm betting plenty of West Brom and Blues fans will make it to Watford and Forest ok.

Bear were you actually going to the game?

Well get on the phone to Laurie and make him change the mind of the safety committee then.

Clearly the whole of the West Midlands are a bunch of snowflakes.

No problem calling it off I was looking forward to the game but wasn’t looking forward to the drive in and walking upto the ground.
Do it again a week Tuesday not a problem, just takes one person to fall and be seriously injured for the club to face questioning on why it went ahead, we live in an age of blame culture.

But that's what about 10% of the volume of people coming to Molineux? And only a small portion of their journey is through seemingly the worst hit area.

It's a pointless comparison.

Car parking is also a consideration, with a lot of car parks unusable 6000+ cars (total guess) parked all over the place blocking off everything I think its sensible.

Plus our players can't play in the winter  (alledgedly)

Disappointed that the game is off but understand why it is. It's a combination of all the surrounding areas being unfit and with the stands being full of snow too then it was always going to be deemed unsafe. We had the worst of the weather yesterday and we were always going to struggle to get the go ahead. On to Leeds it is who are another side struggling like Reading have been.

Think had we had the snow yesterday in morning as opposed to last night it would have gone ahead. Just annoying timing of the snow fall.
Other than losing there’s nothing more annoying than a game being called off.
Just thank your lucky stars some of you aren’t cricket fans and the delays and cancellations we have to put up with.

Went out just now - improving already as didn't have much snow after lunchtime yesterday & temp a good few degrees warmer today.

Main roads are easily passable & as long as you have sensible footwear on it's not a problem. If there was snow later yesterday as indicated in Wolverhampton can see why it was called off as even here would have been much more difficult to move around in yesterday

Hope darlo/aiki/sam/lycan saw it was off before setting off.

Lycan wasn't coming today. Wombat was having his ticket but we talked and called off his trip last night. Way too risky, and I was pretty confident by 9pm that this was going to be the decision from the club and WMP anyway.
