QuestionTime With PPB, Instead of Sir Robin Day .

Pmsl, give over :icon_lol:. So you never do a favour thinking ' oh go on it might earn me a few brownie points ' and dont say you dont , or that you have never done that cos I dont believe you.

Nope. Don't live by such a selfish code. If I do a favour for anyone, its not done to get something back. If that person wants to be nice in return, then fair do's

Agreed. I don't need any validation or reward, if I do something nice it's because I like that person and want to help them out.

Spot on. I don't need to prove myself to anyone - if I give something to someone, it's because I'm nice and I like them, not because I need something back in return. I would personally consider that a shallow, hollow gesture.

Ok so the way to a mans heart is through his stomach, but what meal in particular would do it for you ?

A home made curry with rice - I'm partial to a chicken, mushroom and spinach jalfrezi.

Or a fillet steak - cooked rare - with a fried egg and grilled mushrooms. And possible small side helping of chips.

You lot are all too good to be true !! If im not around tomorrow its cos i've packed me bags :icon_lol:

My meal would be fillet steak (medium rare) with horseradish mash and a red wine sauce (can't bring myself to call it a 'jus', I ain't that poncey!).

Back from Athens and will try to catch up with this thread Sooze, but just for now, after a quick glance, and using my real name

Can Loam Hump.

Nothing poncey about good cooking. You could say reduction rather than jus, more accurate than 'sauce' as well.

Could not go down the LJ road of no red meat, no way.

I was going to call it a 'reduction' then thought I'd be all common and call it a sauce! 'Jus' doesn't annoy me as when I see 'crushed peas' on a menu, however.

I agree about red meat...I love it!

Is there any truth in ' A way to a mans heart is through his stomach ' ? - well its one way

Would you say most men do something nice for their partners in the hope of getting something nice back ? - well I'll be honest even if the rest won't. Can't say that it never crosses my mind, but don't do something nice just for a return favour. Work on the principal that if I'm nice to people most reciprocate

Anagrams - haven't found anything good from user name, but my real name provides many, including:

repeat money (I'll take that)
aye teen romp
mate eye porn
eater my pony (probably not advisable as PPB is anti animal cruelty!)
tampon ere ye

I just don't like red meat. Never have.
A lot of people find it unusual. Long standing friends still invite me round then blather on about the lovely steak they have ready to cook...

I love meat too much to give it up for good. Tried once, lasted about two weeks.

Your choice man, but I could not give it up. I go round my Dad's on a Sunday and generally bring round a massive hunk of beef to cook.

All this red meat makes me the red blooded most arrogant man in the world.

Fillet of Beef Wellington. With coarse pate around the fillet before the pastry. A ridiculously good proper sauce. Not a gravy. Red wine reduction into a proper brown sauce base. Yorkshire puddings the size of Rutland. Perfect roast tatties that crunch on the outside and then are fluffy in the centre. Parsnips roasted in butter with garlic and rosemary. Assorted other veggies.

Some awesome shellfish dish starter.

Bread and Butter pudding with ice cream to finish.

That main course sounds yummy.

Is there one Christmas that sticks in your mind as being one of the best ever ??

I would say last year maybe. Bittersweet as my parents were both gone, but I could buy anything I wanted for my boys and also for mini and micro. Under the tree was mental as I hugely overdid it. Strange thing was they all found the number of presents intimidating. So a bit more stripped back this year, and then I will have nailed it.

Wouldn't exactly say it was my best ever, but it's the only one I can remember anything about with my Dad. All others are erased from my memory for some reason, and its only recently that I have been able to remember this one. I would have been about 8. On Christmas Eve we went to The Golden Lion pub,me and my sister played in the childrens room whilst Dad kept us supplied with pop and crisps. Christmas morning arrived and I got a Miss World board game with little dolls in it that you could dress up . Went visiting step mothers family, unfortunately she had been on the Sherry before hand and had left the turkey in the oven on high. Came home and had a smoking black skinned turkey dinner and I was allowed a Snowball with a cherry on top. Nothing mind blowing, but still a special Christmas because my Dad was in it.
