QuestionTime With PPB, Instead of Sir Robin Day .

Like it was yesterday. Iron Maiden, World Slavery Tour, 5th October 1984. Southampton Gaumont (now the Mayflower). Supported by Pete Way (UFO) and his then new band Waysted. Life changing stuff.
*envy* I spent hours watching & re-watching Live After Death. For years, that video defined live albums for me.

I knew some under age drinker on here would remember the New Inn! I only used to drink the Mild when I didn't have enough cash for a pint of Harp (yuck!). The only people that were ever in there were under age drinkers or old men playing dominoes. You and your mates must have been a bridge between the two! If you ever ventured in on a Friday in 1996 or 97 I'd have probably also been in there.

If you also saw them in 1995 I'd have been at that gig as well. Between 1994-1996 it seemed like I went to most rock/indie gigs at the Civic/Wulfrun so there's a high chance of us going to a lot of similar gigs (I remember you saying you were at Reef in 1995 which I also went to - I think it only cost about £7!)
I probably would've been.
What about Therapy? On their Troublegum tour?
I should post a gig list with the album in front of me...

A pint of Harp! I remember that - that was for the weekend, not a school night :D
Proper hardcore peeps will also remember Irish Harp - had a conversation about that on the way home from a funeral!

Have you ever got up really early to go and queue for something in a sale ?No, but I have gone on the odd occasion to get a record on day of release. Never queued though

Do you prefer sponge cake or fruit cake ?
As long as there's no nuts, I don't mind.
Are you any good at hanging wallpaper ?
Never done it - for shame!
Have you ever tried to research your Family Tree ?
Very minimally. My dad is doing it at the moment.
What's your favourite thing to put in/on a jacket potato ?
a little butter, & cheese. Keep it simple, one foot in front of the other.
How old were you when you left home for the first time to start ventures new ?
I stayed at home a very long time in many many ways, mainly owing to cost, despite being very independent. I was about 30 when I properly left, but that said I had stuff there still til this year when I officially moved out. Both my parents have mild disabilities too, so I'm a carer to both, so there's always a reason for me to drop in a lot.
Favourite flavour of Aero , choc, mint, or orange ?
Probably mint.
Have you ever dated a friends ex ?
I got asked out by a mates ex once. It felt incestuous, so I said no. Some groups of people I knew were virtual wife swappers the amount of changing went on between them.
Is there a big sporting event that you would love to go to but have never been able to for whatever reason ( and you cant put ' yeah, being there to see Wolves win the Prem ' !! ) ?
Love to attend a Wimbledon final, Wolves at wembley, or even an FA cup final.
Do you believe in luck ?
Yes. I get shitloads of bad luck!

Mike Lloyd's was brilliant. Loads of music downstairs. Good music, not just chart rubbish. Then upstairs for your t-shirts, shorts, beenie hats, vinyl, gig and festival tickets, tabacoo tins, posters, bongs, everything you could ever want really! They used to have a few band signings there too. Fondly missed.
Mike Lloyds was pretty good - the gig tickets as well (remember that, before the internet kids?)
Towards the end it went downhill pretty quickly though.
I still have some MLM bags somewhere!

I can feel another spurt coming on, here goes..

What did you eat for breakfast this morning ? Muesli - pretty much the same every morning. God, I'm bored of muesli.

Do you find it hard to take criticism, whether it be justified or not ? No. Not that it's ever justified.

Do you like dried dates, figs, and prunes ? Yes.

On a scale of 1-10 how would you rate your level of patience ? 10 for really quite a long time.... and then immediately down to a 1!

Not sure how many will admit to this but, is there a film that you find sad that has reduced you to tears ? I often cry during films, but On Golden Pond is a good weepy.

This Christmas, will you be doing most of your shopping online, or in the traditional way of Christmas shopping ? Online, online, online.

Females who insist on pulling the 'duckface/pout' on pictures, do you find it sexy , or pathetic, or am I completely missing the point ? Don't know what that is.

How many houses have you lived in , from childhood to present day ? 15 I think.

Are you still in touch with the one best friend you had in school ? Yes. We became friends when I punched him in the eye in primary school. Going to see the band Purson in Aldershot in a couple of weeks, 40-odd years on.

Bit of a morbid one ! Would you like to be able to see your own funeral when the time comes, as in who was there, who bothered to turn up, who spoke if any, and what they said ? Nah, couldn't give a toss.
.

Have you ever got up really early to go and queue for something in a sale ?That'll be the day...NO!

Do you prefer sponge cake or fruit cake ?I was gonna write fruit but then I thought no that's what they want me to write,so sponge it is. :)

Is there a big sporting event that you would love to go to but have never been able to for whatever reason ?Would have enjoyed the Winter Olympics 94 here in Norway.Couldn't because of work.

Do you believe in luck ? Not really, luck is just coincidence imo.

What did you eat for breakfast this morning ?
Never eat breakfast. Except cooked ones when on holiday.
Do you find it hard to take criticism, whether it be justified or not ?
Sometimes - depends on how it is framed, & also who from. If it is from someone I respect, no bother. If they're a prick, they can do one.
Do you like dried dates, figs, and prunes ?
No, but I do love fig rolls a it too much.
On a scale of 1-10 how would you rate your level of patience ?
It varies. Some people tell me I have ridiculously good patience levels. Sometimes, especially when on my own I lose my temper very quickly over very small/insignificant things.
Not sure how many will admit to this but, is there a film that you find sad that has reduced you to tears ?
I've welled up, but not out & out bawling.
This Christmas, will you be doing most of your shopping online, or in the traditional way of Christmas shopping ?
Most online, though I will go to shops, for inspiration if nothing else.
Females who insist on pulling the 'duckface/pout' on pictures, do you find it sexy , or pathetic, or am I completely missing the point ?
I don't care usually. Most are essentially vapid imo.
How many houses have you lived in , from childhood to present day ?
3.
Are you still in touch with the one best friend you had in school ?
I'm not in touch with anyone I went to school with. Almost all of them are complete cunts imo. Closest I get to it is UKyankee off here, who isn't a cunt!
Bit of a morbid one ! Would you like to be able to see your own funeral when the time comes, as in who was there, who bothered to turn up, who spoke if any, and what they said ?
Not bothered. I'll be dead after all. Bit scared that I'd see no-one there tbh...

What did you eat for breakfast this morning ?Bread, butter and cheese and paprika on top. :)

Do you find it hard to take criticism, whether it be justified or not ?Justified, that's fine.I do get a bit upset with unjustified.

Do you like dried dates, figs, and prunes ?Not really.

On a scale of 1-10 how would you rate your level of patience ?A perfect 10. :)

Not sure how many will admit to this but, is there a film that you find sad that has reduced you to tears ?Plenty,I'm a real sob when it comes to sad stories.

This Christmas, will you be doing most of your shopping online, or in the traditional way of Christmas shopping ?The traditional way,in and out of shops as fast as possible!

Females who insist on pulling the 'duckface/pout' on pictures, do you find it sexy , or pathetic, or am I completely missing the point ?I find any posing on pictures pathetic.

How many houses have you lived in , from childhood to present day ?ummm...Eight.

Are you still in touch with the one best friend you had in school ?No. :(

Bit of a morbid one ! Would you like to be able to see your own funeral when the time comes, as in who was there, who bothered to turn up, who spoke if any, and what they said ?No,when I'm dead let me be,if anyone's got something to say say it to my face(before I'm dead)! :)

What did you eat for breakfast this morning ? Porridge

Do you find it hard to take criticism, whether it be justified or not ? It depends on who and why the criticism is heading my way. I'd say yes.

Do you like dried dates, figs, and prunes ? Probably but I don't buy any of them. Fig rolls are great and I used to love them as a kid.

On a scale of 1-10 how would you rate your level of patience ? It depends on what it is to do with. 5

Not sure how many will admit to this but, is there a film that you find sad that has reduced you to tears ? I well up quite often not that I watch too many.

This Christmas, will you be doing most of your shopping online, or in the traditional way of Christmas shopping ? Mainly online. I detest shopping when its busy and when I don't know what I'm getting.

Females who insist on pulling the 'duckface/pout' on pictures, do you find it sexy , or pathetic, or am I completely missing the point ? I've never noticed it.

How many houses have you lived in , from childhood to present day ? 7 including two public houses.

Are you still in touch with the one best friend you had in school ? No. I had a group of mates from school and ones from home which was a few miles from school. Still occasionally see the ones from where I lived at the time.

Bit of a morbid one ! Would you like to be able to see your own funeral when the time comes, as in who was there, who bothered to turn up, who spoke if any, and what they said ? No. I don't like seeing loved ones upset, and on the basis that they might be then it wouldn't appeal.

Scrambled egg on brown bread.

If its justified that's fine, if its not, expect to get some back.

No, cant stand them.

It depends . With kids id say a 3. With elderly people a 9, with mr penguin and man flu it starts off about an 8 then dwindles rapidly to nil. Silly things like getting a tight top off something or coathangers a 2. But all in all id put me at 5.

The Green Mile for some reason.

Shops for me.

Pathetic. Why not just look natural without ending up looking like a twat.

7 altogether.

No. Used to be until a few years ago, then realised that we really didnt have anything in common and we had both moved on.

I think I would. Just to see who cared enough about me in life who would bother to actually say a goodbye to me in death. Also id like to know if they had dressed me with me Wolves shirt on, and me Timberland boots , and with a certain something in me hand.

ah...now we're getting somewhere. :) Does anyone boil potatoes anymore?

This Christmas, will you be doing most of your shopping online, or in the traditional way of Christmas shopping ? Online

Females who insist on pulling the 'duckface/pout' on pictures, do you find it sexy , or pathetic, or am I completely missing the point ? Quite why anybody likes the look of themselves straining for a shit I don't know.

Are you still in touch with the one best friend you had in school ? - as I was at boarding school for much of my teenage years & we were spread across the country (& abroad) during the hols was more difficult. That plus the fact the person who was the closest friend from there died early, so no

Bit of a morbid one ! Would you like to be able to see your own funeral when the time comes, as in who was there, who bothered to turn up, who spoke if any, and what they said ? - Can't see how it would benefit me - no
