no way harsh, coloured mugs disguise the colour of the tea, and i am a serious tea drinker. coloured mugs with a white interior are fine, but i haven't seen one i like, that i haven't broken for a good few years, so i stick with my IKEA white.

I am an awkward bastard about my cup of tea, though i know you wouldn't ever believe that of me, ha ha ha

How on earth do colored mugs disguise the colour of the tea?!

Cannibalism is frowned upon down my way...
Indeed.

Make a cup of tea in a green mug, note the colour of the finished product, then pour it into a white mug or a mug with a white interior, it will be lightewr in colour. and mayb, which is the curse for me, have TOO MUCH MILK IN IT.

I know i'm a fussy old fucker, but you can't be telling me you hadn't worked that out already, ha ha ha. God save Tetley's!

I know what you mean Pav. Too much milk and you've ruined a good cuppa. Yorkshire Tea or Twinings Everyday (when on offer) in our house though.

I love yorkshire tea, but it's easier to find rocking horse shit here, is twinings any good?, always struck me as leaning towards earl grey, which is like a cup of fag ash.

Yeah some Twinings teas are a bit cack but Twinings Everyday is bostin. A good, strong cuppa.

Thinking about it I guess a white surface would reflect a bit more light than a darker colour so the tea might appear slightly brighter.

Though leedswolf's suggestion of green tea might be because it's more translucent than normal tea.

I just drink old fashioned "English breakfast tea " as they call it here, or black tea as i have heard it reffered to. Too much milk and it's must be like drinking piss. I drink jasmin tea, but then i never add milk to that.

ha ha i actually gave Acropolis 1 a paint colour chart to show her what colour the tea should be, and bugger me, she eventually got there, ha ha ha although i have still never managed to make her an acceptable cup of Greek coffee, my last attempt (along with her birthday breakfast in bed) you could have plastered the wall with, and she still wasn't happy, ha ha ha.

I like mine fairly milky and with three sugars. Or "builder's tea" as it's known.

Got myself down to 2 level spoons of sugar now, but still hate too much milk, the colour of a Mcvities digestive is as light as my tea ever gets

Got down to about 3/4 of a teaspoon of sugar now and I like it strong, just a dash of milk does me.

I don't drink much coffee but when I do I'm the opposite, a heap of sugar and LOTS of milk.

Milky tea is vile.

Typhoo teabag, left in a while ,a sweetner, just a splash of milk. Mug with a white interior is a must . A tea cup is for knobs.

Milky tea is for the under 5s. Just a drop of milk for me or I'll have it black quite often.

Earl Grey is superb. So is green tea. Neither require milk nor sugar. I'm like DW when it comes to black tea, no sugar and a drop of milk.

are you my missing twin? a clone? i drink my coffee exactly the same way. Spooky or what ha ha ha

You must have some particularly gay builders (Sic Malky Mackay). Builders tea is so dark you could lay bricks with it.

Ah I always thought builders tea was slang for plenty of milk, plenty of sugar.

I worked on a building site during a summer holiday from school. Of course my sole job was making the tea, and i can assure you any cup with lots of milk was instantly poured on the floor, with not so subtl instructions for a remake.

One of the fascinating things i loved was cooking bacon and eggs in a shovel over a burning brazier, bastards were fussy about the eggs too, ha ha ha no white snot over the yoke or i was a deadman.
