QuestionTime With PPB, Instead of Sir Robin Day .

This is an interesting line of chat...
When I've met guys from TWF on matchdays, I think I always use their real names, but of all of them, Paddy was the easiest to default back to rather than Will.
Sometimes I've used their forum names until I got to know their real name, but vice versa, people refer to me on here as Wolfie or WolfHunting, except when I've been out of line then it defaults back to Roy.
That said, one or two use Roy most of the time, Penk this morning for instance...
When I joined and didn't know about protocol of this type, I thought, On the forum - usernames only, under no circumstances should a 'real name' be disclosed, in real life... real names.
But it seems this isn't always the case!

Most people from here call me Ian, though I don't particularly mind Langers either. Especially if it comes with a pint - call me what the hell you like then.

Strangely enough, when I met a rather inebriated and jolly Penk in a Stourbridge pub a few weeks ago, he called me about 10 different things. Including 'sweetheart' at one point.

I used to think that too, that only forum names should be used and not our real names but then Sue started appearing as did Sooze, Soobie, and even my full title Susan on the odd occasion ! But now realise that it doesn't really matter, you can call me anything you want !! But im sure that if I met some of you from off here then I would find it hard to call you anything other than forum usernames as that is what I am used to :)

I was just curious as to how you refered to each other over a pint.

I don't think it gives a great impression to new users when they come on and see people referring to each other by their real names as it can look a little clicky. But then maybe I am over sensitive and new users soon succumb to the friendly nature of the forum because we never argue, bicker or get petty.

Nice line in drollness...drollity.... drollogue...

For those I have met more than once (or had a number of PM conversations with) then proper name when face to face & user name on here (except when I forget :))

Some I have only met once & it depends where. Was pleased to meet a good number of new faces after the Carlisle game, but it was either in a noisy pub or at the restaurant when we were spread out along the table.

Did get real names, but it was noisy, we had all had a 'few' beers & I get confused easily so may well have either forgotten or will connect the right name to the wrong face next time

To be hionest, on here I'd usually prefer to be known by my username (unless it is pm).
Real name for real life obviously.

Horses for courses though i suppose.

I've only met folk off here a few times but I tended to use real/user names interchangeably. Only exception being Paddy who just seems to suit that name more than Will.

Pretty sure most folk called me Lycan but I'm not bothered by that, I usually go by my surname or a nickname.

Weren't you 'Bumble ' ??

While I do know a fair few posters real names, I'd never remember them all if I met them. I have only met a handful of posters and can't remember what I called them or what they called me, probably their usernames as they're easier to remember. I can't say I'm fussed about what I'd get called although the PTG players on here would probably call me T-Dog or Trevor which wouldn't bother me.

I was going to go for T-Boz.

People don't call me 'Deutsch' (they don't bother with it half the time on here, which is fine) although Dario did start an annoying trend of getting people to say I looked like Michael Branch. The wazzock.

I never knew why you called me T-Boz but I just googled it. Clearly I need to improve my knowledge of 90's R&B acts! Still, I've been called worse.

I always refer to you as Deutsch or DW on here just because it feels strange calling someone else Dan. Plus it seems a bit rude to use your real name when I've never actually met you.

I talk to you far more than most people I have cause to meet in person! But yeah, the Dan/Dan confusion is best avoided.

People always get the wrong idea about me based on my posts here, I'm harmless really...
