QuestionTime With PPB, Instead of Sir Robin Day .

Some of you may be aware that I'm moving back to UK. What most of you won't know is how I sometimes get ' cold feet ' about moving back, and it does sometimes scare me shitless. If you will, I'd appreciate some of your views. In your view give me as many good reasons why you think living in UK is better than being across the pond. Reasons can range from the very silly to the more serious.

  • Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club
  • Better beer
  • Not as much distance to drive between places
  • We speak proper English dow we
  • You're less likely to get shot
  • The NHS
  • Fewer adverts
  • Correct spelling
  • You'll appreciate good weather more
  • Pork scratchings
  • Proper tea
  • You're further away from Donald Trump

A DECENT CURRY
Chinese food is better here too.
Kebabs are miles better here
Battered chips
Most of the pubs don't resemble the set from Cheers

I'd stay there if I were you, standard of living is miles better and we have the great Brexit fuck up to contend with. At least you only have Trump.

Much less religion here.
Much better swearing here.

depends where you are moving too in the uk?

Cyber,it will be Staffordshire. A place that's near to Wolverhampton Wanderers, family and good friends, free healthcare, a place with gun laws, good beer, pork scratchings, proper weather ( Not sure about that one Langers) decent curry, Chinese, kebabs, battered chips, proper pubs, fish & chips. A place where there isn't a church on every street corner, and where I can be myself and swear like a trooper!

And that, according to TWF should make for a happy, easier move :icon_lol:

Thanks for playing folks :)

Wolves!
Proper fish and chips
Real Ale
Less gun crime

Cars are smaller and insurance is sky high. Theres a negative

No Pittsburgh Penguins, or Steelers games to attend. No more fantastic Steaks. There's some more negatives!

You've started something now James!

The UK is fucking shit to be honest. If I ever got myself sorted I'd probably leave, Wolves or no Wolves.

A totally hateful Government, the sheer lunacy of Brexit, an increase in diabolical racist attitudes, pubs disappearing at a rate of knots, a job market which is simply a mess, a housing market which is probably worse, dire public transport outside of 2-3 major cities and we put Piers Morgan and Nigel Farage on TV repeatedly.

Fuck this country, the asylum has been taken over.

I am considering moving there too soon. Staffordshire, cannock chase, Shrewsbury area but rural with a bungalow and the obligatory season ticket!

AND, pot holes in a lot of the roads! Plus bloody Bake Off, Strictly, Celebrity, Jungle, Soaps shit on the tele. More negatives :icon_lol:

You wouldn't really DW, would you?

It is worrying, I have a very good friend from way back who has lived in Italy for many years. They have recently moved back to UK, and regret it every single day. Makes you stop and think...and worry...and panic :(

I don't want to be too rural Cyber, I've done that for the last 23 years and will not do it again. I'm with you on the season ticket though :)

There are three things that stop me moving at the moment:

a) Not having anything lined up work wise (plus I can't really do a 9-5 job any more, so it'd have to be something quite flexible)
b) My condition, which goes up and down and is much easier to control if I'm here
c) General fear of changing what sort of works (I mean I can't say I'm happy, but I survive fairly easily here)

If a and b went away or were resolved then I'd move back to Hamburg in a heartbeat and would consider quite a few other German cities. I really don't like this country any more.

Edit: I suppose I have no money to move at the moment either. That would be a bit of a problem. But anyway the point is that the UK can fuck off, it's horrible.

If the langauage barrier wasn't an issue and we had jobs etc lined up I'd love to leave and move abroad. Scandinavia (especially Denmark) or Germany would be my preferred destinations. Although after the last week somewhere hot seems quite appealing.

Tell you what Trev, you go and earn the money somewhere in Germany, I'll be your live-in language tutor. Then we all win. For a bit.
