Whats a good name for a kitten? Suggestions please.

My mate had a kitten called pants. So named, as the first kitten was called socks, so humourous mate thought it witty to say to all first time guests (whilst opening the door) to mind his socks and pants when they walked in.

Kitten?

That's actually a serious suggestion. Otherwise, why not wait until you get it and then decide on a name that fits. Our cat is called Matilda.

So you mean you have to see the kitten before you can name it. So, you got yours home, looked at it, and thought 'Matilda, yes, you look like a Matilda'. What makes it look like a Matilda ?

There are some kittens ready to be homed in a few weeks time. I'm hoping the crazy one will be coming home with me. I'd call it 'Woof ' or ' Tinsel' as it would be a lovely addition to the home for Christmas. :)

Well, why not? The last thing you want to do is to call it something else and spend the next however many years thinking, "Oh, I do wish we'd have called her Tinsel...".

As for our current cat, we didn't name her. She was a stray who appeared at a vet's house and this vet named her Matilda as she was lost and ragged, etc. When we had her a few week's later, we had no intention of changing the name as it just seemed to fit. The boy calls her 'Tilda. She's a large British Blue with a saggy belly (it's not fat; we think it's left over from having lots of kittens).

You don't have to do it that way, but for some it helps. Same as naming a child; sometimes it's best having it around without a name before deciding.

Awww always nice to hear of a lost cat finding a new home. If I don't get one of these I will probably go to the rescue center and pick one. We had two before we moved to the States, Licorice & Smudge, unfortunately they both got knocked down within 3 weeks of each other :( They were lovely.

Here's a question back at you PPB. What's the collective name for kittens?

I'll post the answer later. No googling!
