QuestionTime With PPB, Instead of Sir Robin Day .

Win, lose or draw tomorrow? - Win of course.

Frankie if you keep on saying that you are bound to get it right one day!

I find it sad that I come home to look up the result, see that we lost, and are not surprised or have much feeling one way or the other. I don't think i've ever felt like this in all my years as a Wolves fan.

Holy thread resurrection Batman! In PPB's absence I'll start this one up again.

If you could move abroad and get a job easily enough, would you, and where would be your ideal country?

We're you ever good enough at a sport when you were young that you considered doing it professionally?

If someone offered you the chance to never have to work again, but only have enough money to cover your household utility and food bills, with a minimum amount of spending money (say £50 per week), would you take it? Or would you prefer to work and have more money?

How many friends do you have? i.e People you'd that happily meet up with one on one for a drink or some kind of fun activity.

Yes and Mexico or Spain.

As with most blokes had a chance to do something in football. Had a weeks trial at Carlisle Utd but a few days before I decided it was the ideal time to break a bone for the first time. Did my ankle and was out for a year and that was that.

No

6ish

If you could move abroad and get a job easily enough, would you, and where would be your ideal country?

Yeah, I'd just move back to Hamburg, dead easy. Periodically I actually threaten to do it.

We're you ever good enough at a sport when you were young that you considered doing it professionally?

I was a decent cricketer, wish I hadn't given it up when I was in my late teens, silly really (but of course I knew best at that age like all 16/17 year olds). Don't know about professionally but I could have played at a decent level if I'd stuck at it.

If someone offered you the chance to never have to work again, but only have enough money to cover your household utility and food bills, with a minimum amount of spending money (say £50 per week), would you take it? Or would you prefer to work and have more money?

I'd want more money than that tbh. If I got a big gambling win (say winning Super 6) I might have a look at really scaling back work to the absolute minimum and if it were viable to just live off that forever (comfortably) then I probably would, I don't live for my job or anything.

How many friends do you have? i.e People you'd that happily meet up with one on one for a drink or some kind of fun activity.

I dunno, I don't really keep count. Maybe 15-20 that I'm pretty close with? Albeit that includes people I don't actually see that much these days due to living differing ends of the country or whatever. But I'll go for a drink with most people.

New Zealand.

I could bat a bit but not good enough to play professional cricket.

No

No idea. Maybe a dozen or so.

If you could move abroad and get a job easily enough, would you, and where would be your ideal country?

Yes - Barbados

We're you ever good enough at a sport when you were young that you considered doing it professionally?

No - I was shit at everything bar keeping and too short to get anywhere at that either

I dunno. I used to think I want LOTS of money. However times are hard just now and the guarantee of the bills being paid is tempting

How many friends do you have? i.e People you'd that happily meet up with one on one for a drink or some kind of fun activity.

A couple of dozen maybe?

If you could move abroad and get a job easily enough, would you, and where would be your ideal country?

Probably. I have always wanted to experience living abroad and apart from family I don't feel much of an emotional tie to this country. Germany or Scandinavia would be my preferred options.

We're you ever good enough at a sport when you were young that you considered doing it professionally?

Hell no. I am consistently bad at all sports.

If someone offered you the chance to never have to work again, but only have enough money to cover your household utility and food bills, with a minimum amount of spending money (say £50 per week), would you take it? Or would you prefer to work and have more money?

Having enough to pay the bills every month plus having some left is an improvement on our current situation but ultimately I would like more than that. It gets tiresome not being to take the family places or buy things for the wife & kids.

How many friends do you have? i.e People you'd that happily meet up with one on one for a drink or some kind of fun activity.

I don't see many of my friends these days but I probably have about 4 or 5 I'd call close friends. However, due to my introverted ways, I'm not all that happy about the thought of one on one drinks with anyone!

Already been there and done it.

I represented my county at schoolboy level in football and cricket, but wasn't really good enough to become a professional

No. I still enjoy working and the job I do doesn't require me to have to work every day of the week.

It's very difficult to put any sort of number to the question.

If you could move abroad and get a job easily enough, would you, and where would be your ideal country?

I always longed to go and live in New Zealand, after spending some time there as a youth, it helped me focus on changing my life around and getting a career and qualification. The big target was lost sight off as I progressed and changed my life around. Would still enjoy taking the family there but it's not such a dream as it once was.

We're you ever good enough at a sport when you were young that you considered doing it professionally?

No, would have loved to have been but I wasn't much cop at football - being short sighted as a mole didn't help. I was ok at Rugby and one of my biggest regrets is the team I played in folding and never going back to it

Depends, if it was living in my house then no, I get restless too easy and would end up working again.

How many friends do you have? i.e People you'd that happily meet up with one on one for a drink or some kind of fun activity.
Very few these days, a young family, busy work. There's lots of people I know and would have a drink with but maybe only half a dozen people whom I consider as real friends.

If you could move abroad and get a job easily enough, would you, and where would be your ideal country?

I liked living in New Jersey and would do that again. But I'd happily live in Spain (Castelon), Italy (Cittidella) or Germany (base of the Alps somewhere)

We're you ever good enough at a sport when you were young that you considered doing it professionally?

No - Average at everything.

If someone offered you the chance to never have to work again, but only have enough money to cover your household utility and food bills, with a minimum amount of spending money (say £50 per week), would you take it? Or would you prefer to work and have more money?

I enjoy working, I like the sense of achievement and money has never really motivated me (I've never really had any though!), so I'd prefer to work and have more time to spend with the family.

How many friends do you have? i.e People you'd that happily meet up with one on one for a drink or some kind of fun activity.

About a dozen I'd call close friends.

If you could move abroad and get a job easily enough, would you, and where would be your ideal country?

To be honest I'm not that fussed. A better climate would be nicer as I hate the cold and winter, but also I wouldn't want to leave my mum here on her own and I enjoy seeing the few friends I have.

We're you ever good enough at a sport when you were young that you considered doing it professionally?

I was a pretty good snooker player when I was young. I was making 50+ breaks when I was 9 and played in the Staffordshire County Championship when I was 10. It was downhill from there though. As I got interested in other things I spent less time practicing and eventually didn't play for a few years other than the occasional game with mates. Nowadays I'm ok and started playing weekly in a local league about 3 or 4 years ago. But I'm nowhere near as good as I was back then. I reckon I could have turned pro if I'd taken it properly seriously from that point.

If someone offered you the chance to never have to work again, but only have enough money to cover your household utility and food bills, with a minimum amount of spending money (say £50 per week), would you take it? Or would you prefer to work and have more money?

I reckon I'd do it. I really can't be arsed with work nowadays plus I've always been unambitious and a bit lazy. As long as I have a bit of spending money I'd be happy enough.

How many friends do you have? i.e People you'd that happily meet up with one on one for a drink or some kind of fun activity.

I still see one or two lads I used to go to school with, plus I have mates who I play pool/snooker with who I'd consider good mates. I already go to watch the NFL with two of them every year. There's also one or two at work who I'd consider good friends too even though I only really see them at work.

If you could move abroad and get a job easily enough, would you, and where would be your ideal country? - not sure, if I did then would probably be something Scandinavian (one of my sister's has lived in Denmark for the last 25yrs & I enjoy going there

We're you ever good enough at a sport when you were young that you considered doing it professionally? - only sport that I was vaguely more than competant at was hockey & played to a good level with that. There really wasn't any proffesional status at the time I was playing & not sure that there is now (though possibly the top international players might be on something) - wasn't good enough to get up to more than good club level though (with a remote possibility of County level which was not fulfilled)

If someone offered you the chance to never have to work again, but only have enough money to cover your household utility and food bills, with a minimum amount of spending money (say £50 per week), would you take it? Or would you prefer to work and have more money? - retired now, so thats effectively what I am doing anyway - wouldn't want to have stopped working earlier than I did though

How many friends do you have? i.e People you'd that happily meet up with one on one for a drink or some kind of fun activity. - loads of aqauaintances that I would happily have a drink with, but close friends probably no more than 3 (this question just reminds me again of the best friend I have had who was killed in a car crash at 25 - over 40 yrs ago now & I still miss his friendship)

If you could move abroad and get a job easily enough, would you, and where would be your ideal country? - Spanish coast please and I would go in a heartbeat. Really need a little more sun and sand in middle age.

We're you ever good enough at a sport when you were young that you considered doing it professionally? - Goalkeeper. Once offered a chance at Braintree town but I had just joined the police so could not commit. Was a little short as a youngster. Grew from 5ft 6 to 6 ft 1 from 15 to 18 so missed out on all the trials locally. Smoked like a train so probably not fit enough either. Hated running too so training for football or boxing was a drag.

If someone offered you the chance to never have to work again, but only have enough money to cover your household utility and food bills, with a minimum amount of spending money (say £50 per week), would you take it? Or would you prefer to work and have more money? - semi-retired now, so thats effectively what I am doing anyway - run a small mobile disco and entertainment business and work 20 hours a week at Cambridge University doing safety and security.

How many friends do you have? i.e My wife is my best friend. I am not one to have a large circle of friends. I have a number of acquaintances. I have maybe 4 or 5 people who I would call friends and I dont see much of them I know when I do it all comes back and vica versa. Never been the most sociable person which is strange because I have a gregarious personality. Seething mass of contradictions. Quite comfortable in the minority of one or alone. Works for me.

If you could move abroad and get a job easily enough, would you, and where would be your ideal country?
Probably not tbh. I'm actually quite happy where I am.
We're you ever good enough at a sport when you were young that you considered doing it professionally?
Not really. I was good at table tennis, and bowls, but the youth game wasn't really there when I was a kid. Indeed you weren't allowed to play in the leagues until you were 12. It annoyed me that they relaxed that rule the year after I started, and my brother started straight away.
Actually, it also annoys me that the teachers strike of the 80's meant the year I was in was the only year not to have a football team either. I wasn't great, but I also wasn't rubbish, and I'd have enjoyed to play.
If someone offered you the chance to never have to work again, but only have enough money to cover your household utility and food bills, with a minimum amount of spending money (say £50 per week), would you take it? Or would you prefer to work and have more money?
No. I'd be bored far too quickly. Doing nothing sounds like the ideal until you get there, then you realise how expensive it is, and potentially lonely. All your mates are at work, and it costs stuff to do anything.
I don't intend to work forever though. Hoping to go part time in 10-15 years.
How many friends do you have? i.e People you'd that happily meet up with one on one for a drink or some kind of fun activity.
They're 2 different definitions. There's LOADS I'd happily go for a drink with, and look forward to the company of. Actual bona fide friends though. That's tough.

If you could move abroad and get a job easily enough, would you, and where would be your ideal country?

I'm not that well travelled, and I don't really have wanderlust, and I'm not great in exploring new places etc so probably not. Plus with the kids coming up to school age etc, I'd rather stay in this country. I would like to relocate to a prettier part of the country though. Devon would be ideal. Dartmouth or Totnes, somewhere like that.

We're you ever good enough at a sport when you were young that you considered doing it professionally?

No. I was bang average and not as good as I wanted to be at pretty much everything. Good enough footballer for the school team, but didn't put the effort in.

If someone offered you the chance to never have to work again, but only have enough money to cover your household utility and food bills, with a minimum amount of spending money (say £50 per week), would you take it? Or would you prefer to work and have more money?

£50 a week wouldn't be enough to raise a family on I don't think, but I definitely work to live and not the other way around - so there's definitely room for negotiation...0

How many friends do you have? i.e People you'd that happily meet up with one on one for a drink or some kind of fun activity.

Got a group of about 10-12 close friends that I've known for years. Don't see them as much these days as I'm the only one to have kids. I'd meet anyone for a drink if the pub sold good beer :D

We did it. Although Country of my choice would have been New Zealand.

No. Was crap at sports when I was young. Although now would consider meself to be a strong swimmer and I can go on and on for hours. Was nowhere near professionally good enough though.

I wouldnt want to work again. I've always been a saver than a spender. Infact I could quite easily get by on 50 quid spending money per week. Im a simple person with simple needs :)

This ones a hard one. There are loads of people id just go for a one on one drink with and feel comfortable. I mean, its just a drink, chat and a bag of scratchings. But doing fun activities with like bowling, going to the pictures, going for a meal, etc then maybe 8 at the most.

Sensible questions Bear, unlike most of mine :)

PPB back :) 1-2 down to the Rangers arent you with swedish boy Lundqvist?

Hi fred, series tied at 1-1, play again tonight. We can only hope that he gets his other eye poked with the sharp end of his team mates stick again this evening.
