Have you any annoying little habits like, are you a pen top clicker, do you drum your fingers, hum or whistle to music ?
Rub the skin off then bend on my finger on both hand
What ya mean ? On the palm side of your hands? Why?

Just remembered doing Mr Men jigsaws recently with a friends kid.
That's a common myth.Sniffers bouncing knee sounds annoying, and Langers you should stop cracking ya fingers, it causes arthritis.
That's a common myth.
There was a doctor who wanted to test it out after being told off by his mother that it would cause arthritis. He decided he would crack his knuckles on one hand but not the other. He did this for 60 years!! His knuckle-cracking hand was no more arthritic than the other, even after so long. What he did find though, was that his joints ached more and his grip had diminished. He even won an Ignobel Prize for it!

I used to crack my knuckles all the time when I was younger but I stopped doing it regularly about 15 years ago. Nowadays I find the same results as he did. Occasional achy fingers and knuckles, and a much reduced lack of grip compared to what it used to be.
Oh and because every day is a school day - The sound of a knuckle cracking is not bones clicking together, but the sound of a bubble popping. The space between the finger joints are filled with a fluid. As the finger is pulled back, that space stretches and enlarges but the fluid can't, therefore a bubble forms to take up the extra space. When it is stretched far enough the bubble pops (or "cavitates" to use the proper nerdy word) causing the noise.
It kinda feels good without any pain. Like a release of tension.
Not any more though for me. It's just a clicking noise and a reminder that my hand often aches.
Probably just means that the spaces aren't big enough to form bubbles or your fingers won't stretch far enough. Either way it's a good thing!
Used to be mine too arklo, from an early age,but nowadays I never think to put them to my mouth. Its a hard habit to break, but I found I liked being able to wear pretty coloured nail varnishes. Sometimes being a woman has its good points
I think that's the same thing yeah. It depends on the type of joint.
My knees crack when I stand up sometimes but apparently that's tendons snapping back into place.
Yeah sounds like cartlidge wearing away. The edges can get rough.
Never heard of that chef Paddy, how did you hear about him, from tele or from eating in the French Laundry ?
Just to prove one of my points above the woman I work with has just said 'can you breathe any louder?' while I was concentrating on my work!
It was me with the knee bouncy thing.Sniffers bouncing knee sounds annoying, and Langers you should stop cracking ya fingers, it causes arthritis.
It was fun. Partially because I love the Mr Men. I'd actually bought him the jigsaw (for christmas) as I babysat for him once, & he was brilliant at doing jigsaws. So I bought him a box with several in!Sounds more fun than the one i'm doing now called My Town. With my house in the middle of the jigsaw, and on a map of the surrounding area and street names.Mainly all in green cos of the trees. If it wasn't for the fact I was given it as a gift and they want to see it done, it'd be thrown out by now.
