QuestionTime With PPB, Instead of Sir Robin Day .

Do you know how to do CPR?

Nope. Pretty slack really.

Last thing you ate ?

Tin of this which is the absolute nuts:

HEINZ_BIG_Fiery_Chicken.ashx

Do you have a jar for odd loose coins ?

Yep. Well it's a big tin that used to contain After Eights.

What would you bring along to a perfect Summer Picnic ?

The means to find a restaurant nearby and pay to eat there instead. I don't like eating outside.

Ever owned a lava lamp ?

Yeah, when I was at uni.

Were you ever frightened by clowns as a child ?

No.

Favourite pub grub ?

Don't really eat in pubs much these days. If I'm going to bother eating out then I'd rather do it properly than stock items on a generic menu which is what most pubs offer. The Bull in Codsall is an exception and their liver and onions is spot on.

If you had something really bad wrong with you, would you want the drs to be totally honest, or only tell you what they think you can deal with or need to know?

Tell me, it's for the best.

PPB is doing Dryathlon in the month of March. Will she have the will power to do it ?

I believe you have the willpower to do it if you genuinely want to do it or there's some kind of reasoning behind it. If it's "just because" then it will be harder to do.

Do you know how to do CPR? Nope. I did a first aid course when our daughter was born but have forgotten it all!

Last thing you ate ?

A Rolo yoghurt.

Do you have a jar for odd loose coins ?

No. They just end up lying around the house in various places.

What would you bring along to a perfect Summer Picnic ?

All picnics need a nice bit of pork pie.

Ever owned a lava lamp ?

No.

Were you ever frightened by clowns as a child ?

No. I may have been had I read 'It' at an earlier age though.

Favourite pub grub ?

Steak and Chips (preferably from The Barley Mow in Penn)

If you had something really bad wrong with you, would you want the drs to be totally honest, or only tell you what they think you can deal with or need to know?

I want them to be totally honest. If it's bad news they may as well tell me so I can plan for it.

PPB is doing Dryathlon in the month of March. Will she have the will power to do it ?

Yes. Although, you should have done it in Feb...the month is shorter!

Do you know how to do CPR? Sort of.

Last thing you ate ? Ginger nut biscuit.

Do you have a jar for odd loose coins ? Yes

What would you bring along to a perfect Summer Picnic ? A nice bottle of wine.

Ever owned a lava lamp ? No.

Were you ever frightened by clowns as a child ? No.

Favourite pub grub ? Gammon.

If you had something really bad wrong with you, would you want the drs to be totally honest, or only tell you what they think you can deal with or need to know? Yes I think I would.

PPB is doing Dryathlon in the month of March. Will she have the will power to do it ? Definitely.

Yes, but never had to put it to use in real life.

Grapes.

Yes, a jar and also one of those coin stacker thingys.

A blanket, crusty bread, a lovely soft spreadable cheese, grapes, wine.

Yes, once had an orange one as a gift. Hated the fucking thing so accidentally broke it one day.

No.

Pub meal would be Scampl Chips and Peas, pub snack would be Walkers plain crisps.

Tell me everything so I know what to expect, how to plan, and how much time, so I can plan for the people I will be leaving behind.

She will do it.

Have you ever knowingly gone to a gay bar ?

If for some reason your wife/partner/girlfriend couldn't get to the shops and asked you to go for her to purchase a couple of new bras, would you know her CORRECT size without her having to tell you or to look in the label of one of her old bras ?

If you witnessed a man verbally abusing a woman in public, would you intervene or walk away ?

Name one of your all time favourite black and white movies?

Yes, to one in Manchester years ago. Turned out to be a bloody brilliant night actually.

Mr Penguin was 2 inches wrong !

I'd have to say something, at the risk of him having a go at me aswell !

The Birds.

Have you ever knowingly gone to a gay bar ?

No. I wouldn't be in one for long once I realised either.

If for some reason your wife/partner/girlfriend couldn't get to the shops and asked you to go for her to purchase a couple of new bras, would you know her CORRECT size without her having to tell you or to look in the label of one of her old bras ?

Probably yes. I'm a bit of a cup savant. I wouldn't risk the chance of getting it wrong though so would check the label.

If you witnessed a man verbally abusing a woman in public, would you intervene or walk away ?

Depends how big he was and how hot she was. And also what he was saying. Context is important before you go steaming in to someone else's business.

Name one of your all time favourite black and white movies?

12 Angry Men is probably my favourite. The Third Man was good too. The Artist is a good recent one.

Have you ever knowingly gone to a gay bar ? - A gay bar in rural Dorset would be a real novelty & probably out of business within a month - so no

If for some reason your wife/partner/girlfriend couldn't get to the shops and asked you to go for her to purchase a couple of new bras, would you know her CORRECT size without her having to tell you or to look in the label of one of her old bras ? - separated, but unless she has changed shape dramatically then I know the size

If you witnessed a man verbally abusing a woman in public, would you intervene or walk away ? - with Bear that you need to check context before piling in - if its just verbal's then probably not, if it had got physical then yes as that's never acceptable whatever has happened.

Name one of your all time favourite black and white movies?
- The Third Man or possibly Psycho

Have you ever knowingly gone to a gay bar ? Yes - when I worked at a petrol station when getting qualified there was one just down the road outside st albans and the owners invited all the staff of the garage for drinks. It was absolutely fine as the customers knew we were straight.

If for some reason your wife/partner/girlfriend couldn't get to the shops and asked you to go for her to purchase a couple of new bras, would you know her CORRECT size without her having to tell you or to look in the label of one of her old bras ? Not a fucking clue. I would need instructions in triplicate to dare attempting such a risky task.

If you witnessed a man verbally abusing a woman in public, would you intervene or walk away ? I honestly don't know. I would like to think I would, but I have never been in that situation so I can't give a definitive answer.

Name one of your all time favourite black and white movies? A night to remember or the longest day

Do you know how to do CPR? - Yes - working in a school all staff have to have a valid emergency first aid certificate.

Last thing you ate ? - a banana

Do you have a jar for odd loose coins ? - no, just spend them

What would you bring along to a perfect Summer Picnic ? - with Frank in a good bottle of wine, but must also have a quality pork pie

Ever owned a lava lamp ? - without doubt

Were you ever frightened by clowns as a child ? - no

Favourite pub grub ? - gammon, egg & chips

If you had something really bad wrong with you, would you want the drs to be totally honest, or only tell you what they think you can deal with or need to know? - once I'd made the decision to find out would want the answer straight

PPB is doing Dryathlon in the month of March. Will she have the will power to do it ? - if you want it, you will do it

PS Another couple of B&W films - African Queen/Casablanca/The Maltese Falcon

African Queen and Casablanca have never really done anything for me. Maltese Falcon is excellent though.

B&W films - how can none of us have mentioned 'Citizen Kane'

On balance think that 'Psycho' takes it - even though I know when its coming the shower scene is a masterpiece.

Maltese Falcon is my favourite Bogey film. I almost mentioned it.

The reason no-one has mentioned Citizen Kane is that it's not actually that good. It's no Citizen Kane that's for sure.

Have you ever knowingly gone to a gay bar ?

Yeah, several times when I lived in Manchester. Absolutely no issue for me at all.

If for some reason your wife/partner/girlfriend couldn't get to the shops and asked you to go for her to purchase a couple of new bras, would you know her CORRECT size without her having to tell you or to look in the label of one of her old bras ?

I wouldn't have a clue.

If you witnessed a man verbally abusing a woman in public, would you intervene or walk away ?

Totally depended on the situation. If it was uncalled for and assuming he wasn't armed (or bigger than me) then I'd like to think I'd say something.

Name one of your all time favourite black and white movies?

My absolute favourite is Young Frankenstein. Utterly brilliant.

Duck Soup. Laurel and Hardy at their brilliant best.

Not a chance.

Have done so. Have to say there were 2 of us, so it made it easier. Weirdly, the bloke (he wasn't just verbally abusing, he actually hit her when they were rowing) apologised to us, not the lady which earned him a second bollocking.

Gotta be 12 Angry Men. Or Pi.
