QuestionTime With PPB, Instead of Sir Robin Day .

Are you any good at taking things apart and putting them back together ?

I can just about take things apart. I can also put them back together but there is no guarantee it will look the same as before I took it apart, and there tend to be bits left over that I'm sure should have been used during the reassembly yet I cannot work out where they should have gone or what their use is.

At about 1pm this afternoon. It was a bit bland though. Fruit doesn't seem to taste of much these days, especially from the supermarket.

I had one at around 10 this morning. Threw it away as it was as dry as a nuns chuff. I generally like my bananas on the just under ripe stage.

Finding a ripe banana is like the search for the Holy Grail nowadays. You have to calculate when you'll want one, then buy it three or four days in advance, when it's virtually green. Would it kill the supermarkets to sell bananas that are ready to eat?

But you dont buy just one banana though, which means that you could buy them one day eat one and its lovely, then have another a few days later and its past its best, its gone dry, soft, brown and cak.

Do you make a bit more of an effort in appearance on Christmas Day than you would normally, or do you slum it in ya jim jams and sit down to lunch looking like youve been dragged through an edge backards and needing a shave ?
I don't make much effort any day of the week tbh. Christmas is much the same!

Erm, kinda. But I need a lot of space to do it in AND NO-ONE TOUCH ANYTHING!!!!
When was the last time you ate a banana ?
Have one with my dinner every weekday.
Get mine from a greengrocers. T-Dan et al, your problems stem from shopping in supermarkets.

No wonder you are such a happy chappy. They contain tryptophan which our bodies turn into serotonin, which helps a person relax and feel happy :)

Did you used to opt for school dinners or take sandwiches ? - went to boarding school so had all meals there or died, no chance of going out as the nearest shops were 5 miles away

What subject at school did you enjoy, were good at, and that you have found useful in your choice of career ? - maths & history - maths yes, history no

Do you own any funny novelty ties ( like cartoon characters, Christmas ties ) and do you ever wear them ?And, do you have to wear a tie for work - have about 20 ties (inc a fetching green one with a south sea island scene) - only 1 novelty Christmas one though. Wear a tie every day at work in term time - have worn a tie virtually all the time in my working life, would feel strange without it

What meal of the day do you enjoy most, breakfast, lunch, dinner, supper ?
- the main meal - evenings during the week, but lunchtime on Sundays

Are you any good at taking things apart and putting them back together ? - without doubt no, anything like that goes to my youngest who has had the knack since he was 9. No idea where he got that from as it certainly wasn't from me

Oh, I know that's the problem. Supermarket fruit is tasteless and goes mouldy too quickly. It's just convenient sometimes. I only really eat Bananas these days anyway although I am a fan of most fruit.

Do like my fruit, & a good greengrocers is hard to beat. Find yourself a good one mate. Be great for the little un(s), smoothies etc.
I have a banana & cox's apple in my lunch box every day.

I also love growing my own bits & bobs (see the grow your own thread) & for almost everything, the taste is phenomenal in comparison to the shop bought stuff. Plus I find it very therapeutic pottering in the garden.

In an ideal world I'd get all my meat, veg, fruit, dairy etc from farm shops but the reality is that I have to shop in Lidl! We do take the daughter to Apley Farm about once a month though and usually raid the farm shop. We go fruit picking at Essington sometimes too. I wish I had the patience to grow my own fruit & veg but I hate doing garden work. I need to be more like my dad, he grows loads on his allotment.

The meat from the butchers there is the best I know

Hey! Don't be knock Lidl, bro. #lidlclassandproud

Aply Farm is awesome, but I always get this overwhelming sense of overpaying when I go to the shop. If they're charging £3 odd for a bottle of beer then I mistrust them from the word 'go'.

Haha I'm not knocking Lidl, they do some good stuff, I'd just rather be able to afford to shop at farm shops!

I agree Apley isn't the cheapest (hence, why we only go occasionally!) The Apley Ale they sell is good though - I believe Santa may be bringing me a bottle or 2 this Christmas.
